State Academic Mariinsky Theatre completed implementation of DWH

On December 13, 2016 the Raidix company announced the project of delivery of a storage system of RAIDIX AERO to State Academic Mariinsky Theatre.

Project Tasks

Due to the intensive development of a multimedia content and IT infrastructure the management of the Maryinsky Theater made selection of solutions for creation of high-performance DWH.

Functional requirements:

• a system should be integrated smoothly into the existing infrastructure and provide scalability of the media portal.
• the materials written on several cameras reach the size in tens of gigabytes. It is necessary to provide the high and constant speed of processing of video.

Different architectural options were considered, the choice fell on Microsoft SilverLight technology (by 2016 refused use of Silverlight). For storage and processing video and audiomaterials the high-performance storage system was required. Special attention when choosing complex DWH was paid to performance during the work with video, to quality of processing of material and reliability of the solution which had to become basis of the media portal.

Project Progress

The IT service of the Maryinsky Theater selected a storage system of RAIDIX AERO for record and storage of audio-and video content. Duration is more than three years.

After implementation of Raidix continues service and updating of a hardware-software infrastuktura of theater.

Project Results

The storage system of RAIDIX AERO completely met requirements of reliability, performance and scalability of IT infrastructure of the Maryinsky Theater. Implementation of DWH allowed theater to perform plans for expansion of monthly volumes of new media content to 1 TB data.

The storage system of Raidix allowed us not only to solve a problem of storage and effective processing of considerable volume of videos of theater, but also guaranteed uninterrupted operation of release of content of the media website of theater taking into account volumes of replenishment of materials about 1 TB a month.
