The Russian market of cybersecurity reached $0.5 billion

IDC for the first time conducted a research of the domestic market of services in information security field (cybersecurity) and an annual research of the market of the relevant software solutions.

According to the report of Russia IT Security Services 2011-2015 Forecast and 2010 Vendor Shares, the volume of this market in 2010 was $312 million. The leading suppliers - Asteros, Jet Infosystems, Informzashita, CROC and Leta IT-company - controlled more than 30% of the market. By estimates of IDC, during the predicted five-year period the Russian market of services cybersecurity annually will grow on average for 27.4%.

The market of services cybersecurity has the considerable potential for further growth. The pacing stimulating factor of its development the aspiration of the companies will conform to different regulatory requirements and the cybersecurity standards, the report says.

Respectively, according to the report of IDC Russia Security Software 2011-2015 Forecast and 2010 Vendor Shares, the amount of the Russian market of program systems of information security support (cybersecurity) in 2010 reached $229 million that corresponds to an annual gain for 29.9%. According to forecasts of IDC, in the next five years the Russian market of program systems of providing Information Security annually will grow on average for 18.3%.

About 60% of the Russian market of software solutions of cybersecurity controlled five companies: Kaspersky Lab, Symantec, Microsoft, Dr.Web and ESET. Also among suppliers of specialized software of IDC selects IBM companies, Informzashita, "Infowatch", Check Point and ArcSight.

The activity of home users became a pacing factor of growth of the market of software solutions of cybersecurity in 2010, analysts specify. Increase in a share of mobile personal computers in the domestic market, the growing penetration of the Internet including in regions, positively affected growth of this segment.

As for a corporate segment, according to Pyotr Gorodetsky, the analyst of the company, concerning corporate users to data protection and IT infrastructures occurred cardinal changes. "Today in the market the most different solutions whereas until recently information security often was associated only with protection of external perimeter are demanded", - he explained.
