The IT unrolled the standardized IT infrastructure in 73 branches of Slavyanka

The IT company completed an implementation project of infrastructure services Microsoft in a branch network of JSC Slavyanka at the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation. Works on replication of the standardized infrastructure in all departments were performed in only 1.5 months. As a result based on 213 servers unified information environment in scales of geographically distributed network is organized, the controllability and security of IT infrastructure is increased, expenses on its support are cut down.

JSC Slavyanka is the largest enterprise of Russia in the field of management of housing stock of military camps of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, operational contents and complex service of barracks housing stock and networks of water supply. Now the Management company JSC Slavyanka makes upgrade of funds and builds effective work with the population in 73 existing branches and also will organize divisions in hardly accessible regions of the country. In this project it was relied on implementation of the innovation approach to management using modern information systems. For carrying out complex upgrade of ICT infrastructure of Slavyanka as the general contractor the Riteylkomp company was invited.

During implementation of the global project on creation of modern telecommunication infrastructure of the enterprise the main objectives, one of which came down to increase in controllability of branches from the center and to providing all divisions of Slavyanka with a uniform geographically distributed information structure instead of diverse solutions, were selected. Deadlines became one of conditions of implementation of infrastructure services extremely – deployment of solutions in all branches should be implemented in 1.5 months.

The IT company having wide experience of automation of the geographically distributed organizations proposed to the customer the most optimal solution on implementation of infrastructure services Microsoft in a branch network for the shortest time and was as a result selected by the contractor of this project.

Works began in April, 2011. At first specialists of IT developed technical solution and mechanisms of the automated replication of infrastructure of branches, and then executed pilot implementation and testing of "prototype" in the Moscow division. The modern standardized infrastructure is constructed on the Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 platform.

The standard solution on standardization of infrastructure of branch includes installation and connection to network of three servers, setup of a VPN tunnel to office in Moscow based on Juniper, installation of the virtualization platform based on Microsoft Hyper-V and setup on two physical servers in virtual environment of four servers with several roles. It is a uniform directory service of the Active Directory, services of files and printings, terminal access, information security management and lifecycle of configurations. Besides, on one of servers the backup system based on Microsoft Data Protection Manager is provided, and on the third physical server business applications of the customer and the server of management of the MS SQL databases are set.

With the middle of May, after successful testing and approbation of technical solution in the Moscow department, its replication in 72 branches with operational deployment of services on 213 servers began. Specialists of IT developed a master disk, the engineer on site connected it to the server – and further installation process, settings and was started testings of service infrastructure automatically on clicking of one button. On upgrade of one branch no more than 1-2 days were required. The project is unique the highest extent of automation of process of deployment of IT infrastructure in all territory of the customer, effective parallelization of works and a practical exception of a human factor during installation and setup.

Quality improvement of providing IT services, certainly, will result in convenience and efficiency of service of our guests and regular customers. It is possible to declare responsibly that Slavyanka actively joined in specific actions for upgrade of management for which it was headed by the leaders of our country".
