The IT company completed the works on equipment of the new building of SO UES branch of JSC – "Regional dispatching office of the Energy System of the Saratov region".
Background
For reliability augmentation of supervisory control of power supply system of the Saratov region at the end of July, 2011 SO UES branch of JSC "Regional dispatching office of the Energy System of the Saratov region" (the Saratov RDU) was transferred to the new 5-storey building.
Previously
In the fall of 2009, before equipment of the dispatching center of the Saratov RDU the management of ODU of Middle Volga invited IT company for evaluating the technical solutions proposed by the third-party contractor on the project of completion of construction of the building. Specialists of IT carried out expertize of solutions on creation of a structured cabling system, telecommunication and information complexes which showed that applied in the draft decision are obsolete, do not consider development perspective, and expected technical implementation does not conform to international standards.
By January, 2010 the IT company prepared the concept of new technical solution. In its basis several important principles are underlain: use of relevant technologies and solutions, efficiency of initial capital investments, decrease in total cost of ownership, possibility of effective building in the future and also reliability and disaster tolerance. After protection of the offer before the management of the Saratov RDU and representatives of System operator the concept of IT company was approved as a new basic solution.
Implementation
Project implementation began in August, 2010 and lasted slightly less than a year. During this time specialists of IT constructed a class EA structured cabling system, with capacity to 10G, in full accordance with requirements of international standard ISO/IEC 11801 2nd of Edition Amendment 2. As a core of network used a sheaf from two Cisco switches Catalyst 6500 for ensuring high flexibility and scalability, high-speed routing, security and high controllability.
For optimization of computing powers and a guarantee of high fault tolerance of a system a server complex based on two IBM BladeCenter chassis, storage systems of IBM System Storage and use of technology of virtualization of VMware were unrolled. The system of master clock system created during the project allowed to integrate all equipment working with the exact time in uniform temporary space.
Results
During the project it was constructed by SCS, telecommunication and server complexes, a storage system, the system of master clock system are installed and technologies of virtualization are implemented. The new dispatching center equipped with modern infrastructure solutions will allow to increase reliability of supervisory control of power supply system of the Saratov region.
Details
In implementation process of the project specialists of IT laid more than 50 km of copper and optical cable lines, mounted 1600 ports of horizontal and trunk subsystems, constructed a subsystem of reception-transmission of a TV signal. The subsystem of reception-transmission of a TV signal is integrated with SCS, the accepted TV-signal is transferred on cable lines SCS and subscriber devices can be connected to any information port of a horizontal subsystem.
