Disaster tolerance of the core banking system RS-Bank v5.5 in Capital Credit bank is provided

Customers: Capital credit

Contractors: R-Style Softlab
Product: RS-Bank

Project date: 2011/08

R-Style Softlab and EMS company completed the project on creation of a centralized system of data storage with protection against failures and accidents in Capital Credit bank. A main goal of the project – ensuring protection of the core banking system RS-Bank v. 5.5 and other business and critical systems of bank. The centralized storage, data management, protection against losses at failures, fast recovery of functioning of systems and also their disaster tolerance at approach force majeur circumstances is implemented. This solution also promotes the satisfaction with bank of requirements of the Decree of the Central Bank No. 2194-U in a part of ON and VD.

The Capital Credit commercial bank is the universal, dynamically developing credit institution. Making high demands to the level of readiness of critical IT systems, the bank made a choice for benefit of R-Style Softlab in which asset the fulfilled technological solution integrated with the core banking system RS-Bank v. 5.5 and RS-Bank V.6 which is completely answering to an assigned task. Partnership of R-Style Softlab with EMS corporation – the recognized leader in the market of storage and data management became an important factor of the choice.

For consolidation of data storage of the business and critical systems, ensuring their integrity and availability the centralized data storage system (DSS) like CLARiiON of production of EMC company is used. This DWH allows to distribute flexibly available disk space, to increase performance of data processing of the different systems and reliability of their storage, to simplify administration and to provide data protection using CDP technology (continuous data protection in the local and distributed modes).

Close interaction of the core banking system RS-Bank v is at the moment performed. 5.5 with the solution CDP by means of a special integration component. Thanks to it there is a continuous data backup of the core banking system, the possibility of system recovery on any timepoint with a guarantee of integrity (consistency) of the recovered information and protection against logical errors is supported.

Disaster tolerance of a complex is reached due to use of the remote platform from the similar DWH set on it. Between systems replication of data is performed. Thanks to such approach the bank reduced the recovery time of services from several o'clock and even day to several minutes. In combination with technology of virtualization it allowed bank to reduce several times the number of the physical servers required for ensuring operability of the main critical systems.

"The high scalability of the created solution based on the platform of EMS will allow bank to implement further the plans for increase in quantity of the protected business and critical systems, significantly expanding the volume of the data stored in them. We hope that experience of Capital Credit bank will appear to very interesting and our many other customers, first of all, who are already operating the RS-Bank v system. 5.5, for which we developed rather interesting solution", – Alexey Vlasov, the director of the department of end-to-end systems of R-Style Softlab noted.
"We set as the purpose to ensure the guaranteed safety of critical data of our information system. The assigned task is solved, implementation of the complex providing creation of history of instant copies without stopping of business processes of bank. So at any moment we own the relevant and viable copy of critical data allowing to be recovered even in case of serious failures. The solution of R-Style Softlab company based on the EMC platform, in our opinion, is today almost only solution capable to provide integrity of the database of the core banking system RS-Bank Pervasive", – Vyacheslav Sergeyev, the head of department of automation of CB Stolichny credit noted.
