Phillips was appointed the CEO of Infor last year and since then avoided public statements, refused an interview for media and other performances while constantly held meetings with clients worldwide, and groups of developers of the company put finishing touches in Infor 10.

It is designed to change a situation to Infor 10 which will connect together own practices of Infor and products of third-party vendors in a new packet of the middleware (middleware) called by ION which is partially created using components of the open code. Infor 10 includes the updated user interface - Workspace. This approach will also be applied to the products which passed to Infor during recent acquisition of Lawson Software, the head told, however the user interface Smart Office preferred by many clients of Lawson will remain optional.
Besides, Infor 10 will give the chance to the companies to start ERP as a cloud service or in a hybrid form with some components remaining in the property of the enterprise. Infor 10 also includes a number of the offers intended for different industries, but the vendor intends to pay attention and to "micro verticals". For example, in addition to orientation only to producers of food and drinks, Infor can suit also breweries.
The existing clients will get access to some functionality of Infor 10 within an annual service fee, and another software, such as ION, will be separately licensed, "for a reasonable payment", Phillips told.
According to Phillips, the new product is ready for entry into the market. "We have everything for clients production workers", - he emphasized and added that now about 60 clients work with ION. According to him, it gave the chance of Infor to hold careful testing of ION.
