AVON replaced mail of Beeline with Google Apps

The AVON company was not happy with fault tolerance and small functionality of an old corporate mail system from Sovintel therefore it eventually changed it for a cloud service of Google Apps.

The Russian division of cosmetic concern Avon made the decision to make migration on new mail software. The delivery agreement of cloud services Google Apps is signed between Avon and Softline.

Avon works in Russia since 1995 and by this moment the staff of the company makes about 1 thousand employees. So taking into account a geographically-distributed structure of the company a mail service – one of the main means of corporate communications and maintenance of key business processes.

Earlier in Avon used a mail service from Sovintel (Beeline), however, in process of operation it ceased to conform to requirements of the company to fault tolerance. Besides, Avon did not satisfy the inconvenient interface and lack of means of joint work – the calendar and exchange of documents.

In Avon-Rossiiya one thousand employees therefore falling of mail for the company - are inadmissible work. As a result the company replaced mail of Beeline with Google Apps. 

Solutions of Google were selected by Avon among analogs as "exceeded them by the critical parameter for Avon business – fault tolerance: Google provides an availability guarantee for the services of 99.9% and confirms it", said in the official statement. As for Softline, Avon cooperates with it the third year.

Among Apps Google services implemented in the company the Gmail mail, electronic document management based on Google Docs, the schedule, planning of meetings and exchange of calendars using Google Calendar. Protection of corporate network and business applications is provided by Postini Services antispam-Google service entering a packet of Google services of Apps for business.

According to Andrey Akhmetov, the business analyst responsible for web solutions of Avon-Russia company, "in the future cloud computing will develop in the field of the standardized business processes which take place in the companies of different types and the sizes.
