The analyst of the Computerworld edition Christine Burns suggests to look at the five of the organizations which, according to her, are capable to provide the undertaken obligations in data protection.

Bromium

The company works in the hidden mode so far, however its founders hinted that they create a product which uses virtualization for protection of all types of end consumers of data. Quotations are still unavailable.

Founders of the company Gaurav Banga, former technical director of the company of Phoenix Technologies, Simon Crosby, former technical director of a data processing center and division of cloud computing of Citrix, and Yens Pratt (Ian Pratt), current chairman of Xen.org and also veteran of Citrix.

The argument drawing attention to this company, according to Burns, is that Crosby - one of the most explicit supporters of public cloud computing. According to him, security risks of cloud computing grow not from the holes characteristic of "clouds", and rather they are connected with vulnerability of clients, like those corporate users that are entered into corporate networks in a large number and with ascending speed today. Though the company is not going to disclose detailed information on a product until the end of this fall, Crosby said that the main profit of the company on virtualization will be in the field of security.

Before beginning business of CipherCloud, Kothari was the founder, the technical director and the interim CEO of Agiliance company, software company in the field of GRC (management, risks and compliance), was a cofounder and the vice president for development at vendor of ArcSight.

This company is interesting that CipherCloud tries to undertake enciphering and a marking of data in such a way that protects the stored and moving data. At the same time generates quite low overheads on performance for applications of SaaS and does not force corporate customers to transfer enciphering control keys to suppliers of cloud services.

Cofounders of this business: Carson Sweet as the CEO, Talli Somekh the executive chairman and Vitaliy Geraymovych - the vice president for engineering. They came to CloudPassage from GlobalNetXchange (nowadays Agentrics), Musea Ventures and technology consulting, respectively.

The CEO Carson Sweet claims that virtual machines accompany explosive growth in cloud computing "but sometimes people forget about a virtual area network in which there are these machines and they need protection". CloudPassage specializes in security of virtual environment of the server which seems as one of the most unpredictable and weak spots in "cloud".

In company management her founders - Bill Hackenberger and Steve Pate. Hackenberger acting as the CEO and the president created three more startups, one of which - AIM Technology - is purchased by Network General. He also held posts of the vice president for developments in Caymas Systems and Vormetric. Pate who held a position of the technical director in a similar position worked for solution provider of enciphering Vormetric and vendor of solutions of virtualization HyTrust.

High Cloud Security printed a fragment from article published in 2010 where in three simple steps speaks how to capture the virtual machine recently and at this moment to steal confidential data which can be processed on the virtual machine at this time. High Cloud Security considers that method to prevent similar is enciphering of all data which may contain confidential information, at the level of its storage. The company will release the product now undergoing beta testing soon.

According to Burns, the Computerworld edition watched this company within two years as it was selected as subject to observation in 2010 and at several industrial exhibitions won a title and awards of the best in these shows. In the tests of protection of virtualization which are carried out by the edition, the product of the company holds positions against the market leader of Trend Micro. As reported, the company performed program cover of bigger number of the enterprises in the first two quarters 2011, than for the whole 2010.
