2011-2012

  • In 2011, the development was completed and the first serial samples of SafeTouch devices were obtained to protect users of RBS systems.
  • In 2012, Russian manufacturers of remote banking systems began active work to integrate SafeTouch into their solutions. Already in the second half of 2012, regular sales of devices to Russian banks began.

SafeTech and BSS have announced a technology and business partnership agreement. The goal of cooperation between the two companies will be to increase the level of security of remote banking systems. In particular, support for the SafeTouch smart card reader in BSS products will allow bank customers to protect themselves from the latest generation of hacker attacks.

To confirm the legal significance of electronic payment documents, modern RBS systems use personal hardware cryptographic tools (tokens and smart cards) that prevent an attacker from copying an electronic signature key. However, even these technologies do not allow you to protect yourself from an attack with the substitution of a payment document, which allows you to change payment details unnoticed by the bank's client, while simultaneously displaying "legal" data on the monitor display.

The SafeTouch reader is equipped with a display that allows you to view the contents of the signed document in a trusted environment and only then send it to a smart card to generate an electronic digital signature. In this case, for the user, the operation will be as simple as possible, just look at the display and press the confirmation button on the device. Thanks to this technology, fraudsters will not be able to replace a legal payment document and steal funds from the client's account. Work is underway to integrate SafeTouch technology into BSS boxed products designed for remote banking. Among them, the system for organizing remote banking services for legal entities "RBS BS-Client" v. 3.

SafeTech Logo

SafeTech was founded in 2010 in order to develop and launch a unique device - a smart card reader with the ability to visualize a signed document. The presence of specialists in the project team in the field of information security, programming and microelectronics made it possible to develop a product architecture, prepare prototypes and launch mass production of the device, which later became known as SafeTouch.
