Imagebook migrated in clouds

Softline completed the project on transfer in clouds of IT infrastructure of Imagebook company, having solved a number of non-standard tasks which faced the customer.

Imagebook (Imidzhbuk) is service of creation and printing of photobooks via the Internet. The company founded in 2006 became one of the first players in this market. Today Imagebook processes more than hundred orders a day, sending photobooks to all cities of Russia and the CIS country.

The decision on transition to cloud services was made in connection with requirement of the company for the solution of non-standard tasks which rose before Imagebook with business development and growth of order amount. The company needed to increase disk space to several terabyte for storage of photos and also to organize work with storage as with the uniform virtual disk not dependent on quantity of physical disks, with a possibility of its transparent expansion. Besides speed and inexpensive backup of all amount of data was required. Before emergence of these tasks of Imagebook she was familiar with technologies of virtualization, renting capacities in the data center located in Germany. But the used hosting offered only standard services, without providing physical access to servers therefore the IT personnel had to invent solutions independently.

To solve the problems which rose before it, the company addressed the suppliers of cloud services having several advantages: reasonable prices, possibility of non-standard solutions and minimum speed of response to requests. Search of the partner in the market of cloud services was performed as in Russia, and abroad, and was stopped on Softline. In the project progress specialists of the company took out in clouds all information system Imagebook, including storage of photos, a personal account of the user, the website and a number of third-party services. As a result of work the problem of creation of the big expanded virtual disk was solved, the maximum fault tolerance of service (99.9%) is reached and the continuity of business processes is provided that it is especially important for the producer of operational printed materials.
