History of firm

Being in Cambridge, the Xaar company is department of consulting group of Cambridge Consultants companies. Having begun with production of a system of printing for satisfaction of mail needs (for Pitney Bowes company), the Xaar company grew to the serious research, implementation and business company trading in licenses for production of the printing heads used in the field of pyezostruyny printing in different technology areas (from production of outdoor advertizing before the built-in multi-purpose printing productions).

One of the first buyers of licenses of Xaar was the IBM company which organized production of printing pyezogolovka in Sweden, being guided by global market of office applications of the products. At that time, while IBM fought for control over the market of personal computers, it was necessary to separate a part of assets, such as, the company on production of printers and heads of a thermoinkjet printing of Lexmark and also the Swedish department on production of pyezogolovka which began to be called Modular Ink Technology (MIT).

Were for the first time applied by Pyezogolovki from MIT in the industry by production of the Rastergraphics PiezoPrint 5000 printer and equivalent products from Oly mpus/Xerox group. In 1999 Xaar actively rose in the market, having shown independent profit and at bearing considerable income to investors. And the means received as a result of successful transactions were thrown on acquisition of MIT owning the main license for production of pyezogolovka. The MIT company was a part of XaarJet AB, Swedish department of Xaar owning the plant of pyezogolovka.

Specific Features

The provision Xaar is unique for the industry. On the one hand, it is the largest manufacturer of pyezogolovka, with another - the only seller of licenses for their production and application. Owners of licenses of Xaar are the companies and Brother corporations, SII (Seiko Epson Corporation), Konica Minolta, Toshiba. Representatives of Xaar claim that there are no problems at such approach, own market of the company does not compete with the markets of holders of its licenses. So could be in the past, but the increasing quantity of the printing heads made by holders of licenses becomes more and more obvious now - these printing pyezogolovka can be established on new large-format machines. The Xaar company appears in the face of future situation of the competition to own licensees using and selling printing heads, especially in vertical sectors of this market.

Products

Pyezogolovki Xaar include - XJ128 (earlier it was made by MIT company), it is used in printers of the Gretag Arizona and Scitex Grandjet families; a series of heads XJ500 applied as in printers on firm surfaces, such as as Zund UVjet Sheetmaster and Inca Eagle 44 and also in other new models of the large-format equipment.

The main pyezogolovka are intended for ink on an oil basis, UF-otverzhdayemykh and different types of ink on the basis of solvent solvents. Until recently the Xaar company did not make printing heads for water-based ink, start of XJ126 series was partly addressed to this segment of the market. Nevertheless, the printing systems where these printing heads are used are still unknown.
