The technology companies hopelessly lag behind in appointments of women board members of the companies and at a position of the most highly paid heads. Hewlett-Packard, Google and Oracle were noted in a "most low-paid women-bosses" nomination.

According to an annual research of the University of California and a number of the organizations trying to increase number of leading female of the enterprises from 400 largest open companies of California, the companies of the technology industry have the lowest interest of female directors and heads. "In this question the technology companies far behind", - Marilyn Nagel, the chief executive of Watermark company considers.

In the industries of production of semiconductors and the software the lowest interest of women in category "five highest paid positions" in the companies: 4.4% and 2.7%, respectively, said in the research Study of California Women Business Leaders. On average, only one woman is a part of the top and highest paid management from more than 28 technology companies.

In the semiconductor industry only 5.2% of directors – women, but not one female director in only 7.7% of the companies. In other industries, in comparison with technology, such companies - 40%. A little more than 9% of directors in the sector connected with software - women.

The research notes several exceptions: Advent Software company on the second place in the list of leading companies of California, in terms of representation of female heads. 36% of her heads and directors - women, including the chief executive Stephanie DiMarco. Hewlett-Packard holds the sixth place of this list from 35%, considering the chief executive Meg Whitman. One more technology company – Yahoo, enters in TOP-25 from 27% female heads though her chief executive Carol Bartz, left the post recently.

Meanwhile, more than ten big companies work without participation of female directors, including Adobe Systems, Demand Media, LeapFrog, Nvidia and National Semiconductor. Women do not take part and in the management of the companies Apple, Electronic Arts, Qualcomm and Tesla Motors.

According to Nigel, a part of a problem is that the technology companies often look for board members who directed other technology companies earlier, and women make only 3% of heads of the companies of this kind. Marilyn Nigel considers that for involvement of women in executive positions of the companies of a high tech it is necessary to expand a circle of their search in other sectors.

And as the technology companies, as a rule, are transnational, they are more concentrated on racial, than on a sexual variety, she told. As a result, much less programs are directed to encouragement of women to work or growth in the technology companies which, by the way, try to recruit female engineers just at the lowest level therefore, in particular, that usually do not inquire in school of the girl in information science as science.

Nigel also noted that the technology companies are not always guided by promotion of women in management therefore there are also no women who are quickly moving ahead up. "There are no programs directed to receiving places by women at a table in the highest echelons of business", - she emphasized.

Bill Campbell, the chairman of Intuit and the consultant of many technology companies, emphasized in the statement that the raznopolost in the management helps the company to attract more talented people. "In other words, we consider that a sexual variety at the highest levels is necessary for successful hiring and preserving of bigger number of talented people", - he told.

Though in this research Intuit Laura A. Fennell is called by the company "without women among five highest paid heads" (Laura A. Fennell), her senior vice president and the general counsel, is one of the highest paid, according to the November tax report of the company.

The research also covered the Californian companies entering the list of Fortune 1000. Among them, in Hewlett-Packard four female directors, and in Intel three, including its former chairman - Jane Shaw work. In Cisco, Google and Oracle on two ladies and one in Apple.

To category of the worst salaries among the highest paid heads Hewlett-Packard got – there two women, to Google and Oracle on one, and to Apple, there are no Intel and Cisco such.

In the Russian labor market something similar is observed in the initiating part - employment search. According to Superjob company, from 100% of applicants of the highest positions in the companies and the organizations, 7% - women. At the same time on average positions in hierarchy of the enterprises 12%, and apply for a position of the specialist - 26% of representatives of this half of mankind.

In relation to the specific territory as reported Yuli Sakharov's TAdviser, the director of HeadHunter St. Petersburg, among applicants on executive positions in the field of information technologies about 12-15% is women. Among them those who are interested in a position technical or IT directors (CTO/CIO) of only 2-3%.
