The Hanwha Techwin company (before Samsung Techwin), as of August, 2018, turns out products under the name of Wisenet Samsung, is equipment manufacturer for security systems. The company develops the technologies demanded for the systems of video control on objects of the private sector, transport, production, engineering support, commerce, education and medicine.

Hanwha Techwin is a part of the South Korean industrial conglomerate Hanwha Group formed in 1952. It is focused on creation of a full range of the devices and software products allowing to organize professional security systems of any scales and degree of complexity. Its main office is located in Korea, and the branches performing first technical support of clients are available in many countries of Europe.

Products of Wisenet Samsung for the security systems are result of developments and use of own innovative technologies. On the account of the company — creation of the Korea's first lenses with an autodiaphragm, cameras with the WDR function and security robots. Moreover, Hanwha Techwin arranged serial production of IP cameras and network video recorders with support of the advanced algorithm of a videokompressiya of H.265.[1]

History

2015: Completion of the transaction with Hanwha Group and change of the name

On July 15, 2015 it became known that the company name Samsung Techwin is changed after completion of the transaction on its purchase by Hanwha Group corporation. The new name — Hanwha Techwin ("Hanva Tekvin").

Nevertheless, foreign operations of Samsung Techwin save former names, and change of a name affects only South Korea. It means that Samsung Techwin America in America, Samsung Techwin Europe in Europe and Shanghai Samsung Techwin in China will be called still.

The Samsung Techwin Co., Ltd. company which became to Hanwha Techwin Co., Ltd. is a co-owner of a brand of Samsung together with several affiliated companies. Thus, Hanwha Techwin, without being the owner of a brand of Samsung in general, will be able to use it at sales of video surveillance systems in the different countries.

In the most South Korea employees of the sold divisions (in addition to Techwin, it is three more companies — defense and two chemical) protested against the transaction. People were afraid for the jobs as the new owner will carry out reorganization.[2]

2011

As of December, 2011, Samsung Techwin, founded in 1977, entered into Samsung corporation and was one of suppliers hi-tech the equipment for video surveillance systems, aviation and defense industry. Turnover of the company, according to information for 2011, exceeded 1.39 billion euros, the staff of the company totaled more than 7000 employees worldwide.

The Samsung Techwin company proposed universal solutions for security in any conditions and for any objects: airports, sea and transport hubs, military facilities, commercial and industrial zones.
