On December 15, 2011 the Department of Information Technologies (DIT) of the city of Moscow announced that it the idea of the electronic 3D model of the city of Moscow from NEOLANT entered in TOP-20 the best IT ideas on informatization of the capital.

Announced the competition "Your Ideas for the Information City" DIT of Moscow in December, 2011. For participation in tender developers, entrepreneurs and experts were invited. Further there took place public discussion and vote according to the results of which 20 best IT projects were selected!

The electronic 3D model of Moscow, offered NEOLANT, allows both citizens, and the city authorities to obtain the unrolled evident information on a status of the territory, the interesting objects and constructions. When using a system decision making process not only on a design, building, reconstruction and arrangement of city objects, but also on the questions connected with social protection, security, preserving and development of a cultural appearance of the capital accelerates.

Will undergo from December 15 to December 19 the choice of the best ideas from TOP-20 by expert discussion and vote. We invite all interested to vote for finalists on the website of DIT of Moscow.

About the project of creation of the electronic 3D model of Moscow

The electronic 3D model of the city of Moscow is implemented on the basis of the Autodesk Infrastructure Modeler software product – the fast and easy tool for the creation of 3D models of large territories developed by Autodesk company.

A system integrates register and space data of different departments and organizations. Main pluses of use of the 3D model:

  • development planning of the territory in the context of the existing environment (taking into account objects of different type);
  • evident representation of infrastructure facilities;
  • possibility of easy and fast formation of several options of arrangement of objects;
  • access on the Internet, the easy web interface in mastering for each user who is in any point of the country;
  • possibility of fast virtual movement on the 3D model of extensive territories (existence of the computer with the minimum system parameters is enough);
  • obtaining expanded information on objects;
  • connectivity of other visual opportunities – spherical panoramas of objects, photos;
  • and so on.
