The TopS BI company completed the project on migration of archive of client affairs of Vozrozhdeniye bank on the new Microsoft SharePoint 2010 platform.


Previously

Ryabov Anton Nikolaevich, the head of department of retail lending of Vozrozhdeniye bank explained: "The centralized electronic archive of client affairs – an obligatory system for modern bank which helps to arrange and reliably to save an array of customer information and agreements. In Vozrozhdeniye bank the electronic storage provides not only functions of archive, but also gives the chance of online access to copies of primary documents at all stages of work with the client".

The solution existing in bank based on Microsoft SharePoint Server 2007 at a certain stage ceased to meet the necessary requirements for system high-speed performance. Having studied possibilities of the new version of Microsoft SharePoint 2010, the bank decided to perform migration of a system. The partner selected TopS BI company.

Solution

In the course of inspection participants of a project team came to a conclusion about need of the Service Pack 2 installation for SharePoint 2007 that helped to improve system performance a little and to pass to the next stage on migration of archive of client affairs to the new platform - SharePoint 2010.

After migration of archive on SharePoint Server 2010 transfer of documents of archive from the database in file storage using the built-in opportunities of the platform (RBS technology) is performed. This solution allowed to reduce significantly the DB size, and as a result, to lower load of DBMS and to reduce fragmentation of the database.

Opinion

"Works within the project were conducted on the production site which should be available 6 days a week in all time zones where there are bank departments. Therefore the number of technology "windows" for accomplishment of project works was minimum. The large volume of the data (more than 1 Tb) which are saved up at that time in storage of bank also complicated work of project specialists. The additional complexity was given that specialists of TopS BI at each stage had to provide complete fault tolerance of a system and a possibility of its "rollback" to the previous status in case of incorrect completion of this or that transaction", - Maxim Kislitsky, the director of the department of Microsoft of TopS BI company explained.
