Service and support of the database of automobile plant "Ural" are transferred to outsourcing

Automobile plant "Ural" implements the project of outsourcing, delegating questions of support DBMS Oracle of the company "LANIT Urals".

Solution

The automobile plant "Ural", leading enterprise of the machine-building industry, transferred technical works on support of Oracle DBMS to outsourcing by LANIT Urals company. Specialists of LANIT Urals carried out preliminary complex performance review of Oracle DBMS and formulated recommendations about change of architecture of data storage. Besides, works on thin setup of parameters and distribution of memory for DBMS were carried out.

At the enterprise the Physical Standby technology which allows in the Active Data Guard mode in read minutes is implemented and activated to recover operability of a system in case of failure of the main copy of Oracle DBMS. Specialists of LANIT Urals analyzed the most resource-intensive requests and implemented KEEP-pool technology that significantly reduced response time of DBMS for using application base. Also for software developers recommendations about change of structure of data storage and creation of additional objects of DBMS reducing load of a copy of Oracle were developed.

Yury Nam, head of department of information technologies of AZ "Ural": "In 2011 at the enterprise there were problems with the IT specialists servicing Oracle DBMS which is used in work by a corporate ERP system. Use of experience of LANIT Urals company became an exit from current situation. We see the main result of joint work in reduction of time of complete recovery of data of the ERP system of the enterprise. During failure system recovery happens within several hours, but not three days as it was predicted earlier".
