Sourcefire NGIPS

The Sourcefire company, the founder of Open Source-системы Snort, presented in February, 2012 the first the IPS solution of new generation (NGIPS) with the built-in technology of intellectual management of applications (Application Control).

The Sourcefire Application Control technology gives the chance to the companies to manage thousands of user applications and to effectively block network attacks. Using technology of detection and management of applications clients can easily construct complex security policy which will combine management tools access and a reliable intrusion prevention system.

Sourcefire NGIPS are constructed on the high-performance Sourcefire FirePOWER platform. In addition to control function by applications of the solution Sourcefire NGIPS have all potential of the Sourcefire FireSIGHT platform:

• Detection of thousands of applications, including mobile versions of browsers, virtual machines and client applications,
• Viewing all changes of network points, applications, users and network infrastructure in real time,
• Map development of network and profiles of network points,
• The behavioural analysis and detection of anomalies at the network layer,
• Automatic evaluation of influence of events of security for filtering of "noise",
• The automatic system of recommendations about security policies based on contextual awareness on network condition.

Possibilities of an expanded system of creation of reports on applications:

• Statistics of applications provides data on risk of use of applications, network points, consumption of capacity, the version of the browser, etc.
• Automatic mailing of ready reports on e-mail.
