Alfa-Bank starts an implementation project of the high-performance solution of network storage

HP company together with Brocade company start implementation of the joint project of creation of the new storage area network of Alfa-Bank on the basis of Fibre Channel technology 16 Gb. The solution will allow to increase capacity by 4 times, to reduce energy consumption by 10 times and to increase density of optical ports of IT infrastructure of bank by 40%.

Solution

The project executed now which part is design and deployment of the new storage area network based on the equipment of FC 16Gb is one of the main stages of upgrade of IT infrastructure of Alfa-Bank. The first phase of this project will be complete in the summer of 2012, the project at a stage of final approval of the plan of implementation of the new equipment now on the existing Wednesday.

Installation of the equipment of FC 16Gb will be executed is transparent for work of banking applications that will provide the continuity of business processes of bank. The new reserve DPC will be constructed at a distance of more than 2.5 thousand km from the main DPC that at the moment has no precedents in Russia among DPCs of financial institutions. It is supposed that such location of DPC will allow to ensure reliable functioning of business applications of bank and continuous service of his clients in all regions of the country even in case of major accidents.
