The Russian venture fund Runa Capital in March, 2012 announced investments for the amount of $1.5 million of the Capptain project - a cloud platform for analytics and marketing in the field of mobile applications and telecommunication services.
Capptain allows developers of mobile applications to obtain in real time information on behavior of users of different mobile platforms (IOS, Android, WebOS, BlackBerry, Windows Phone 7) and IPTV systems (Samsung Smart TV) and also to come to them into contact with the help of notifications in applications.
As envisioned by developers, it is so possible to collect different data: sources of installation of applications, performance measures and stability of programs, problems in the interface and so forth. Also thus it is possible to learn the interests of the user and to plan advertizing campaigns in the form of push-notifications which would be interesting to a specific user group.
The French company Ubikod founded in 2008 is engaged in development of Capptain. Investments from Runa Capital will allow the company to increase the sales in the market of the USA, Europe and Russia. At the same time the venture fund was not limited to investments - the board of a startup included the managing partner of fund, Dmitry Chikhachev.
