On March 23, 2011 in Command center city passenger transport of St. Petersburg there took place the exit meeting devoted to implementation of modern information technologies on city passenger transport on the basis of satellite GLONASS system.
The Governor of Saint Petersburg Valentina Matviyenko, the vice governor Yury Molchanov, the Chairman of the Committee on transport Stanislav Popov, the director of SPB of GU "Organizer of Transportations" Vladimir Mikhaylov participated in a meeting.
The System of Complex Automation of Transport (SCAT) implemented in the city is joint development of companies "Budget and Financial Technologies" (BFTs) and CSBI Group. A system represents the complete hardware-software solution based on GLONASS technology allowing to automate all stages of management of transport infrastructure of the large municipal entity (or the region).
According to Valentina Matviyenko a system allows to control tightly work of public transport, and due to improvement of competition among carriers, visualization of their work, allows to save means of the city budget also. Last year more than 200 million rubles were saved on subsidies to transport enterprises. Besides the management system for public transportations provides control of safety of passengers. The governor noted that this year work of public transport, regularity of routes significantly improved in comparison with last year.
Within development of SKAT in St. Petersburg for 2011-2012 it is planned:
- Implementation for the population of information ("social") services: The Internet portal of city passenger transport, SMS-informirovaniye service about the movement of vehicles on routes, step-by-step installation of information displays on passenger shelters;
- Introduction of operational management of the movement of vehicles from Command center city passenger transport.
