S-Group

It includes the Central Consumer Cooperative Association of Finland (Suomen Osuuskauppojen Keskuskunta or SOK Corporation) and its subsidiaries, as well as 21 regional cooperatives. S-Group is engaged in 6 areas of business and the largest of them is the retail trade (hyper- and supermarkets). The retail chain has a sales turnover of 10,464 million euros, and more than 40,000 employees are employed in this area.

Overall, S-Group controls about 1,661 individual business units in Finland, and these are:

• PRISMA hypermarkets - 62
• Supermarkets S-market - 786
• Terra (stores selling worthwhile, garden and decorative goods) - 11
• ABC - gas stations from cafes (some of them have a store on the territory) - 419
• Sokos major shopping malls and specialty stores - 62
• Hotels (Sokos Hotels and Radisson BLU) - 60
• Restaurants - 769 (some of them in the territory of department stores or hotels)
• Enterprises that trade in agricultural goods - 125
• 47 branches that deal with cars and the sale of auto goods.

S-Group operates in Finland, the Baltic States and Russia.

2022

X5 bought stores of the Finnish chain Prisma, which left Russia

On June 16, 2022, X5 Group announced the acquisition of stores of the Finnish Prisma chain, which left Russia. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) has already approved the corresponding petition of the Russian retailer. At the same time, the financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Plan for curtailment of activities in Russia

On March 4, 2022, amid Russia's sting operation in Ukraine, it was announced that Finnish holding S-Group, which operates 16 Prisma supermarkets and three Sokos hotels in St. Petersburg, would wind down all operating activities in Russia.
