The monitoring system of DPC on the basis of Microsoft System Center in Rostelecom is the Far East

The representative office of Softline in Khabarovsk announces project completion on deployment of a pilot zone of a monitoring system of a data processing center of macroregional branch "Far East" of JSC Rostelecom on the basis of Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2007 R2.

Macroregional branch "Far East" of JSC Rostelecom ("Rostelecom - Far East") – structural division of JSC Rostelecom which operates on the territory of the Far Eastern Federal District. "Rostelecom - Far East", the having administrative center in the city of Vladivostok, is created in April, 2011 based on JSC Dalsvyaz after accession of this company to JSC Rostelecom and today integrates seven regional branches – Amur, Kamchatka, Magadan, Seaside, Sakhalin, Khabarovsk and also SakhaTelecom branch.

For the purpose of minimization of potential failures, decrease in a downtime of business and critical IT services and the equipment the management "Rostelecom - the Far East" made the decision on creation of a single system of the round-the-clock monitoring of IT infrastructure based on a monitoring system of Microsoft System Center Operations Manager. The Softline company became the partner in system implementation of management and monitoring of IT infrastructure.

For a pilot zone of IT infrastructure of MRF "Far East" twenty items of equipment were selected. Project implementation took place in several stages. On the first specialists of Softline company conducted examination of IT infrastructure of the customer, during the second – unrolled and configured SCOM 2007 R2 for monitoring of key components of IT infrastructure of DPC: Windows Server, Solaris, Red Hat Linux operating systems; hardware of the chassis, servers of IBM and HP; Riello uninterruptible power supply units; controllers of the climatic APC NetBotz parameters; software of CitrixXenApp.

As a result of system implementation of the centralized monitoring Far East branch JSC Rostelecom received the solution which allows to reduce considerably time of response to failures in work of elements of IT infrastructure and to increase quality of providing services both for employees, and for external clients – subscribers of the company.
