Moscow, on May 22, 2012. The ESET company, the international developer of antivirus software, the expert in the field of cyber crime and protection against computer threats, announces delivery of 5000 licenses of anti-virus solution of ESET NOD32 Business Edition to Far Eastern Federal University.
Far Eastern Federal University — one of the leading universities of the region which conducts the history since 1899 — year of establishment of East institute — the first higher educational institution in the Far East. Now the main activities of the university are energy resources and energy-saving technologies, the industry of nanosystems and nanomaterials, a transport and logistic complex, biomedical technologies. DVFU is the only Russian university having the accredited branch in Japan.
Till 2012 in Far Eastern Federal University antivirus software of different producers, including solutions ESET NOD32 was used. Departments of the university are located in different parts of the city, and the impossibility of the centralized solving of tasks on information security led IT specialists of educational institution to the decision on the choice of the uniform corporate standard of antivirus protection.
"In DVFU a progressive tense anti-virus products of different producers were used, and we had an opportunity to compare solutions among themselves — Maxim Mokhov, the assistant department head of services of the electronic university of Department of information technologies of DVFU comments. — ESET NOD32 was used about three years in one of universities which in an effect integrated in DVFU, and unlike other known anti-virus products, software not only successfully resists to Internet threats, but also does not influence system performance. The anti-virus solution of ESET NOD32 Business Edition is already successfully scaled more than on 3000 workstations and on the DVFU servers.
