"We want that daily purchases happened in our shop as mozhnoproshche, and the buyer received the high level of service and complete independence as degree of customer satisfaction is our priority. And we believe that self-service at the checkout will help us to achieve the designated goals, - Olaf Shomaker, the managing director of administration of Globus LLC comments. - At the moment the systems of self-service were repaid, and on average 12 thousand buyers use them every day. We already have plans for the NCR SelfServ Checkout installation in other shops for 2012 and in more long term, for creation of zones of self-service of similar and even bigger size".
Project Development
After implementation of cash desks of self-service of NCR SelfServ in hypermarkets of Globe in Vladimir and the Queen in 2012, the retail chain stores made the decision on implementation of cash desks of self-service and in other cities of Russia. It will promote increase in satisfaction of buyers and optimization of workflows. The network of hypermarkets is going to set cash desks of self-service in the new shops in Krasnogorsk and Tver and also in already existing shop in Klimovsk.
Clients of Globe quickly estimated advantages of cash desks of self-service. For example, in shop of Globe in Vladimir about 15,000 clients a week with pleasure use this technology. Buyers pass to the systems of self-service as it allows them to save time – clients of hypermarkets can independently scan, pack and pay goods now. Buyers use a simple and user-friendly interface in which each step of process is intuitive thanks to visual and voice hints.
Cash desks of self-service promote reduction of queues in a cash zone of Globus shops that allows to service the bigger number of buyers quicker. As one employee monitors several cash desks of self-service (from three to six), Globus can redistribute employees on the tasks bringing more than benefit such as help to clients in search of goods, information support and the operational calculation of goods on shelves of shop. Using use of the systems of self-service it is possible to increase more than twice the number of cash desks on the same square, without having involved the space which is taken away under goods.
One more advantage of cash desks of self-service is the lack of need to recalculate cash manually as cash desks execute calculation automatically that helps to accelerate process of work with cash.
