The state enterprise "Antonov" upgrades an automated design engineering system

The consulting group Borlas will implement an automated design engineering system, preparation of production, reverse engineering (CADCAM//CAE) for State enterprise "Antonov" (Ukraine). The project is based on solutions of the company Siemens PLM Software.

Objectives

The advanced automated design engineering system (CAD) allows designers and engineers of Antonov to improve development process of completely digital models of airplanes, modeling of products and their components and also facilitates work with electronic documentation. Data integration about a product, storage and access to them is provided by the centralized control system of design-technology data (PLM). Based on PLM electronic interaction between developmental bureau and serial production, other divisions of Antonov and with partners of the company is unrolled.

A choice for benefit of the solutions Siemens PLM Software was made after carrying out in 2011 of the pilot project which proved that the products Teamcenter (the most widely used PLM system in the world) and NX (which is completely integrated by CAD/CAM/CAE the solution) completely meet requirements Antonov. As their key advantages the flexibility and ability to integrate with systems which are already used at the enterprise were mentioned.

Hopes

"The implementation project of the modern systems of design and management of technology data is an important part of the program of development of scientific and technical base Antonov Company. New software solutions are widely used in projects of creation of the Antonov airplanes, for example such as An-70 and An-178. They will also help us with implementation of new joint programs with the Russian partners", – the Senior vice president – the Chief designer of the Antonov Company Grigory Rudyuk noted.

At the moment the project officially started, formation of project documents and the working groups is conducted. At the Antonov enterprise 450 jobs of CAD/CAM/CAE of the Siemens NX system will be created. Within the agreement of Borlas signed with the Antonov Company delivers licenses to use softwares, makes deployment and setup, provides consulting support.
