The branch of 1C-Rarus company in St. Petersburg completed an implementation project of 1C: Manufacturing Enterprise Management 8 in JSC Kommunar Paper-mill. In a new system 150 employees work. Automation of accounting of finished goods and operational accounting of raw materials in a warehouse allows the enterprise to load most effectively production capacities and to reduce a production time. Implementation of an effective budgeting system helps the management of factory to control financial performance.
JSC Kommunar Paper-mill known in Russia and abroad the producer of packaging and technical types of the papers and cardboard which are widely applied in confectionery, medical, food, metalworking, polygraphic and other industries.
Earlier information system of the company consisted of separate software products of different vendors and spreadsheets. The lack of the unified information system did not allow to see in real time a material transfer in workshops, semi-finished products and finished goods on a warehouse. The need for chemicals was not always calculated truly, it was rather difficult to count loading of production lines. All these factors did not allow to solve problems of long-term planning of purchases and complicated finished product output. Outgoing and incoming payments were introduced into an old system manually that led to a big delay in fixing of information on cash flow and complicated control of settlement with partners.
The new information system which would allow to organize operational accounting of production and stock balance was required for the company, to plan payments, to control cash flow and to quickly approve requests for expenditure of means.
For improvement of a situation the company management selected the 1C: Manufacturing Enterprise Management software product. The St. Petersburg branch of 1C-Rarus company which specialists have wide experience of automation of the largest companies (including representatives of the international holdings) which are in the territory of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region acted as the partner in implementation.
On start of an automated system in commercial operation 6 months were required. Now in a system about 150 employees work, the following divisions are automated:
- the top management of the company;
- technological department;
- paper production;
- central warehouse;
- raw-material storage and finished goods;
- sales department;
- purchasing department;
- department of quality;
- transport department;
- economical department;
- settlement department;
- finance division;
- accounting;
- legal department;
- personnel department.
Implementation of a new information system allowed the company to solve the following problems:
- Considerably waste paper acceptance accelerated: on specialized scales the complete, and then empty machine is weighed at first. A system accepts information from scales, automatically credits the necessary weight taking into account the carried-out analyses, and, assigns unique serial numbers to each batch. Information right there is reflected in a system, than the possibility of an error of manual entry is excluded.
- Purchasing managers can see in real time the needs for raw materials now, and formation of requests for acquisition of materials and chemicals does not take a lot of time. The specialist who received such application needs only several minutes to select the supplier who is most suitable by different parameters from the available list and to make the order of materials.
- There was an opportunity "tie" material cost to a specific batch of the produced paper that considerably increased the accuracy of cost accounting of each batch.
- Production process is automated, it is enough to employees to fill out one document which automatically creates a unique series with the complete information about the made roll. It allows to exclude errors and duplication of unique numbers.
- Process of selection of necessary finished goods and formation of delivery notes is automated that significantly accelerated shipment of products and obtaining the order by the client, the customer loyalty of the company raised.
- A large number of reports is developed for tracking of quality of products, it allows to simplify and accelerate a certification process.
- The new accounting system allows to create and hand over quicker reports in tax authorities and also to reveal defects under the authority of accounting and tax accounting and to quickly correct them.
- Approval of costs on budgets takes place in a single system and much quicker now that allows to make timely payments, avoiding debts to suppliers and partners.
- System implementation allowed to control cash flow and to obtain operational information about a financial status of the company.
