The complex project of upgrade of CIS of CentrObuv network comes to the end

The COMPAREX company completed the complex project of upgrade and automation of IT infrastructure for retail network "CentrObuv". Within the project at the customer solutions on the Microsoft System Center platform were implemented.

Objectives

The CentrObuv company has a distributed network of shops and offices with a large number of workstations. The organization of work of such large-scale retail network requires support of powerful IT infrastructure. In the absence of a centralized system of IT management such tasks as, installation of applications on the PC, control of existence of a certain type of software (for example, an anti-virus software) and also inventory of installed applications required considerable efforts of IT service. For adjustment of an effective management system for jobs of users the CentrObuv company addressed specialists of COMPAREX company.

The COMPAREX company was faced by a problem of system implementation which will help:

• organize automatic installation software on computers of staff of the company according to the roles appropriated to them.
• carry out inventory of software and the equipment installed on computers of employees.
• exercise remote control of the PC park means of Microsoft.
• implement general installation and total control over existence of a certain type of software in all PC park (in particular, when implementing the project specialists of COMPAREX were faced by need of program installation of Microsoft Forefront Endpoint Protection for all staff of the company).
• control Microsoft - and Linux infrastructure of the company.

Solution

Implementation of means of standardization of procedures of service of jobs of users is Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager, allowed to solve these problems. As the solution for conducting monitoring of servers of the company it is offered to implement the System Center Operations Manager program.

Result

As a result of system implementation of centralized operation by information infrastructure specialists of CentrObuv received the solution allowing to carry out regularly inventory of the equipment and the software including the procedure of collection of data on the set software for servers and client workstations. Besides, thanks to implementation of the System Center Operations Manager program the customer had an opportunity of fast and transparent monitoring of the infrastructure that allowed to reduce time expenditure by service and to reduce a downtime of services of a system. Having reduced time spent for monitoring and service of the IT system, specialists of CentrObuv had an opportunity more effectively to develop the IT infrastructure and to optimize it under business challenges of the company.

Besides, as the additional solution Microsoft Threat Management Gateway (TMG) as the proxy-server was implemented.

According to project participants, the proposed and implemented solutions will help CentrObuv company not only as much as possible to automate the existing IT processes, but also will significantly cut down expenses, will allow IT to meet expectations of the effective information and technology system which is completely meeting the requirements of modern business.
