In the summer of 2012 MegaFon opened the modern data processing center (DPC) constructed taking into account requirements of the international standard of reliability of TIER III in Orenburg. The new DPC will become a crucial element of network of the operator in the Orenburg region.
The purpose of construction of new DPC – creation of the reliable and modern platform for placement of telecommunication equipment of the operator and, as a result, providing high-quality services to subscribers in the Orenburg region and also development of hi-tech services.
The DPC was built taking into account requirements of the international standard of reliability of TIER III. An object represents the separate building, from industrial facilities, in the flood-free area at a distance, has access roads for transportation of the large-size equipment. All communications and systems are reserved here. The equipment is capable to process traffic to 40 Gbps – thus, MegaFon provided a quadruple stock of capacity for traffic transmission even at the most high loads on network.
The center has six degrees of protection: the first special category of reliability of power supply with repeated reservation of a system, the system of gas-fire extinguishing in autohalls without damnification to the equipment, 100% reservation of a transport fiber optic network (that provides preserving and signal transmission even at break), anti-jellied protection of autohalls, the uninterrupted system of a microclimate in technology premises (reserve conditioning, maintenance of necessary humidity), the system of video protection of all premises and the adjacent territory DPC and private security.

Secure "strength" allows to carry out in the center maintenance and repair works without stopping of activity that it is difficult to provide even on the submarine. It means the uninterrupted customer service delivery even in extreme operating conditions. For subscribers work of the center is a further improvement of service quality, development of opportunities of mobile data transmission", – the director of information technology of the Volga region branch of JSC "MegaFon" Evgeny Ilyin notes.
Based on new DPC MegaFon not only installs own equipment, but also already provides modern services for corporate clients. The companies of a different profile and scale can place the server hardware in racks of MegaFon or rent the space for the racks. Except the reliable, specialized platform and economy on the maintenance of the IT equipment, the client receives channels for data transmission from one provider.
Start in operation of an object, unique for Orenburg Oblast, took place during the celebration of the 8 anniversary of MegaFon company in the region. Today the operator is in the lead in the region on many indicators. The subscriber base contains nearly 1.3 million SIM cards - it is more than 40% of the market on subscribers. MegaFon built the most large-scale network in the region. The mobile 3G-Internet of the company is available in all cities, the district centers and the majority of small localities.
