Severstal changes the platform of a corporate portal together with its design

The TopS BI company completed the project of migration corporate the intranet portal of JSC Severstal on the Microsoft SharePoint 2010 platform and expansions of its functionality.

Goal

Severstal wanted to change functionality of the portal existing since 2004. For corporate communications it is important to develop uniform and effective information space in corporate network, consolidating already existing resources, implementing new services and giving to employees enhanced capabilities on work with documents. For this purpose we need the flexible, failsafe and functionally expanded platform. Completely the product Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 met such requirements. The partner of implementation selected TopS BI company which helped us to implement successfully a number of projects", - Natalia Prokopenko, the chief of the department of corporate marketing and information of JSC Severstal says.

Solution

Development of the additional services configured under the order became important feature of the project. In particular, specialists of TopS BI implement a possibility of broadcasts of corporate channel "Severstal TV" with minimization of load of communication channels for the appropriation account of content on different locations. The new service "Electronic Corporate Newspaper" allowed to publish issues of the newspaper not only in the PDF format, but also to integrate them with news feeds of the portal, for feedback from employees. The service of a subscription to portal news which allowed to receive by e-mail news releases in a type, convenient for reading, according to preferences of the user is finished. The new version of the portal provides also a possibility of mailing of personal declarations.

Features

The implemented TopS BI solution considers all modern requirements of web navigation and provides the most accurate and logical creation of sections. The new portal based on SharePoint includes a number of standard services: information on the company, "News and declarations", Informers (currency rates and weather forecast), Forums, Polls, Media library, Library of documents, "Calendar of events", Wiki, etc. At the same time for activation of a feedback from employees for a number of services the feature for writing of comments was added.
