2022: Detention in a criminal case of fraud

In January 2022, the Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed the detention of Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation Vladimir Tokarev. A criminal case of fraud has been instituted against him (part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), according to the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. In the near future, the Khoroshevsky District Court of Moscow will consider the investigator's petition to choose a preventive measure in the form of detention.

In addition to the deputy head of the Ministry of Transport, other persons appear in the case, noted in the Ministry of Internal Affairs; their names were not disclosed. Searches were carried out in the office of Mr. Tokarev, at his house, as well as at the house of one of the other defendants. The deputy minister "seized digital media, documentation and other objects of evidentiary significance."

The criminal case is related to the work of Mr. Tokarev as deputy general director of Spetstransstroy LLC in 2016-2018. As Kommersant previously reported, the former head of the company, Yuri Reilyan, is also involved in the case.
