The project of optimization of CIS is carried out by "the International Grain Company", increasing stability of a system

Dell jointly with the partner - Server-Unit company, optimized IT infrastructure of the International grain company, the press service of the Customer reported on October 9, 2012.

Goal

In addition to need of reduction of business in compliance to the European and international technical standards, the company was faced by problems of standardization of IT infrastructure, increase in stability of functioning of a system. At last, it is necessary to increase utilization coefficient of the equipment and speed of work, to reduce electricity consumption.

Solution

Within two months, by means of technologies of virtualization from Dell company, the number of servers is reduced from ten to three. The equipment entered the updated infrastructure of the company:

• arrays of data storage of Dell EqualLogic PS6010X with hard drives with the interface of SAS and Dell EqualLogic PS6010X with solid state drives which increased the capacity of infrastructure and facilitated to the employees search and obtaining crucial information;

• network system of data storage of big density of PowerVault NX3100 which provided high performance at data exchange by means of files and blocks;

• a system is easily scaled in process of growth of requirements to available space;

• blade servers of Dell PowerEdge M710 of the eleventh generation which provided the additional computing power and efficiency: employees had an opportunity for work with several office applications at the same time.

"This project began demonstrative to solve for our company as we showed our capability assigned tasks in a short time. For us it is qualitatively new stage in work with a command of Dell", - Vladimir Podymov, the sales director, Server-Unit said.

Result

Optimization helped to reduce costs for 32% and also to increase a system availability indicator to 99.99%. Besides, energy consumption was reduced by 18% in comparison with former indicators.
