X5 Retail Group equips with modules of GPS monitoring of 1200 trucks

The Russian Navigation Technologies company equipped with the system of GPS monitoring of Avtotreker transport the X5 Retail Group N.V. cars, the press service of integrator reported on October 30, 2012.

Task

In 2009 X5 Retail Group N.V. made the decision to optimize work of the vehicle fleet, having equipped cars with the system of GPS monitoring of transport. The specifics of business oblige retailers to provide the timely goods delivery.

The company held an open competition in which specialists of "RNT" could offer the solutions which are most technology suitable under requirements of the customer. For example, it was offered to control fuel consumption via the car CAN bus. The essence of technology is that all information from different units of the car (about temperature, the speed, fuel consumption, etc.), is transferred to the CAN bus to which there is their further reading. The similar control method of fuel consumption uses also the regular sensor of the car.

Solution

Now the customer creates the uniform dispatching center of monitoring of transport controlling more than 1,200 cars. The onboard Avtotreker block, the sensor of opening/closing of a back door, the temperature monitoring sensor are installed on vehicles which deliver goods in shops "Perekrestok", "Pyaterochka", "Karusel" and others, connection to the CAN bus is executed. The sensor of opening/closing of a door allows to control time of unloading of goods, unplanned operation of the sensor can also signal about security risk.

"At the beginning of the next year we are going to continue cooperation with X5 Retail Group N.V. and to equip with the Avtotreker system of 800 cars of the company. Currently in Russia few similar projects, are even less companies having experience of implementation of such projects. At "RNT" broad examination in the field of monitoring of transport of the companies of product retail, it allows to develop the solutions which are most suitable under specific problems of the industry based on already existing functionality", - the CEO of "Russians of Navigation Technologies" Ivan Nechayev emphasized.

The project is one of the largest implementations of monitoring systems of transport in the field of retail – more than 1200 cars are equipped today.
