Gazprom Neft was delivered by Trend Micro on data protection

Antivirus software from Trend Micro became a basis of an end-to-end system of information security support of JSC Gazprom Neft.

The antivirus protection of the distributed information system based on software solutions of Trend Micro company which is also including products of some other leading manufacturers of means of information security became result. Use of unified corporate environment of management of all installed products of Trend Micro, the including possibility of safe, but at the same time powerful remote administration, significantly simplified processes of management of anti-virus solutions within a single system of operation of IT infrastructure of the customer. At the same time exact following to the established procedures and regulations of service of anti-virus solution helped to increase the general reliability of protection and in practice ensured functioning of effective mechanisms at response to the arising incidents of information security.

Gazprom Neft gives five years preference to Trend Micro antiviruses. In 2010 competitors were not even allowed to the tender. Experts consider that the products Trend Micro have some advantages to corporate customers, but not the fact that the oil and gas company uses these opportunities.

Internal tender of Gazprom Neft on delivery, installation and support of antiviruses once again was won by Trend Micro company, Levtsov Veniamin, the area manager of this developer in Russia and the CIS told CNews. Licenses for 8 thousand jobs were delivered through the distributor of Mont and reseller Amrita.^[1]

The customer holds similar tenders annually and five years antivirus software of Gazprom Neft delivers Trend Micro. This time the company became the only participant of tender, Levtsov says: "Other vendors tried to take part, however, did not approach under requirements of the customer and were not included in the final tender". Gazprom Neft of CNews reported that along with Trend Micro when choosing the solution products of Kaspersky Lab, Symantec and McAfee were considered.

Drawing up requirements and the tender in Gazprom Neft took place in the first half of the year 2010, and directly delivery of software entering into Trend Micro Enterprise Security Suite – at the end of the half-year. According to Levtsov, is as about updating of versions of software which was already working for the customer, and about adding new.

Amrita and own specialists of "The Gazprom of oil" was engaged in deployment of software. IT specialists of the customer, the implementer and vendor standardly are responsible for support depending on level. Financial conditions of tender are not disclosed – neither in Trend Micro, nor in Gazprom Neft did not answer questions of contract amount. According to a source of CNews familiar with the project, works cost the customer in the amount about $300 thousand.

Jobs in Gazprom Neft are more than at 40 extracting, overworking and sales enterprises in 18 regions of Russia and abroad. According to in Trend Micro, the unified environment of management of all installed products, i.e. means of remote administration is unrolled by antiviruses. According to Konstantin Lobachev, the employee of department of IT Gazprom Neft, was imposed on the project of updating of antivirus software transition of a large number of users to terminal access.

IT competences of Gazprom should be concentrated in the subsidiary Gazprom inform formed at the end of July, 2010. This CNews company said that should create uniform procurement strategy of software in the future. However it will not be known what of child structures they to cover yet. "Besides, for customers they the first made the analysis of the entering files and links of a corporate segment at own capacities, i.e. "in a cloud", - the analyst says. – A single question whether this functionality in Gazprom is used.
