Aton protected mobile platforms

By request of IK Aton the Russian company "Signal-KOM" adapted the solutions in the field of cryptographic protection — Signal-COM Message-PRO and Signal-COM Java CMS libraries — for use in a new office of the client on mobile devices and the Aton Line 3 point-of-sale terminal.

Prerequisites of the Project

Right after a release of the first mobile tablet computers the Aton investment company headed for provision of services to the clients via new modern devices.

The most demanded rendered services in providing information on personal accounts and exchange of documents. But for implementation of such opportunity, it was required to solve a compatibility issue of keys of access to the information systems and the client's office used on normal computers running Windows with the information systems developed for mobile tablet computers. Especially for these purposes the Signal-KOM company, more than 20 years which is engaged in development and delivery of products and services in the field of cryptographic information protection was attracted.

Project Progress

For the organization of cryptographic protection on iPad and iPhone in a new office of the client the solutions "Signal CÔME" on the basis of Signal-COM Message-PRO v.3 libraries for iOS and Signal-COM Java CMS for Android OS were used. The same developments of the company were integrated into the Aton IK Aton Line 3 trading system for mobile tablets, reported in "Signal CÔME".

In a new office of the client of mobile version it is going to organize the same functionality, as in the client's office running Windows, including giving of instructions for input-outputs/transfers of money, viewing and signing of periodic reports, a possibility of a re-registration and prolongation of the digital signature certificate, the margin trading, voice service and another.

The Aton Line 3 point-of-sale terminal in mobile version for iOS and Android assumes sales opportunity of the following functions: transactions with securities, viewing in real time of quotations and queues of requests for the selected financial instruments, receiving a monetary credit or loan, tracking of a situation in the market using diagrams, creation and maintaining any number of portfolios, etc., and, in fact, are the mobile place of the broker.

According to information "Signal CÔME", Signal-COM Message-PRO v.3 libraries for iOS (2.0 and above) and Signal-COM Java CMS for Android OS (1.5 and above) provide cryptographic data protection of any format, stored on electronic devices or transferred on open communication links.

Both solutions represent protocol implementation of protection of messages of Cryptographic Message Syntax (RFC 5652 and RFC 4490) using the Russian cryptographic algorithms of enciphering and the electronic digital signature. Libraries ensure functioning with certificates (X.509), allow to perform key generation, formation and verification of electronic signatures, enciphering and deciphering of data. Their application in a new office of the client and the Aton Line 3 point-of-sale terminal will allow users to protect the transferred and obtained information and also will provide its confidentiality, integrity and reliability (authorship confirmation).

Responses of the customer

In general porting of cryptographic libraries on mobile platforms opens new opportunities before developers for creation of protected applications in different spheres, consider in the company. According to forecasts of the director of the department of work with private clients and the project manager from business of IK Aton Grigory Sedovan, at the initial stage not less than 1000 clients will use a mobile office.

In turn, the director of the department of information security of IK Aton and the project manager Dmitry Svyatny added: "Solutions on security for mobile devices have the features which, are generally connected with convenience during the work with keys. But we very much hope that our clients will appreciate our new developments, including the new office of the client constructed using cryptographic solutions from Signal-KOM company".
