Bakhin Arkady Viktorovich

Bakhin Arkady Viktorovich is the Soviet and Russian military leader, the former First Deputy Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation.

Biography

Was born on May 8, 1956 in Kaunas the Lithuanian SSR (nowadays – the Republic of Lithuania).

Education and military service

1973 - 1977 - training in the Moscow highest general command school of a name of the Supreme Council of RSFSR.

Served as the commander of a platoon, company, the chief of staff - the deputy commander of battalion in the Southern group of troops and the Kiev military district.

1984 - 1987 - training in Military academy of the name M. B. Frunze.

Served in the Central Asian military district in positions of the commander of motorized rifle battalion, chief of staff - the deputy commander of an educational motorized rifle regiment, the commander of an educational motorized rifle regiment.

1995 - 1997 - training in Military academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

Career

1977 - 1984 - the commander of a platoon, company, the chief of staff of battalion in the Southern group of troops and the Kiev military district.

1987 - 1991 - the commander of motorized rifle battalion, the chief of staff of a regiment, the commander of an educational motorized rifle regiment of the Central Asian military district.

1991 - 1993 - the commander of the 59th motorized rifle regiment of the 85th Leningrad and Pavlovsk motorized rifle division of the Siberian Military District (Siberian Military District).

1993 - 1995 - the commander of the 74th separate Guards Zvenigorod and Berlin motorized rifle brigade of the Siberian Military District.

1997 - 2000 - the commander of military base.

2000 - the commander of the 42nd motorized rifle division in the North Caucasus Military District (NCMD).

2000 - 2002 - the chief of staff of Group of the Russian troops in Transcaucasia.

2002 - 2004 - the deputy commander troops of the North Caucasus Military District.

2004 - 2006 - the commander of the 41st general army in the Siberian Military District.

2006 - 2007 - the deputy commander troops of the Siberian Military District.

2007 - 2008 - the chief of staff - the first deputy top military commander of the Siberian Military District.

2008 - 2010 - the top military commander of the Volga-Ural Military District.

On July 22 - on October 28, 2010 - temporarily fulfilled duties of the top military commander of the Western Military District.

On October 28, 2010 -^[1] is appointed by the top military commander of the Western Military District].

On November 9, 2012 - 2015 - the first the Deputy Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation^[2]

Since November, 2015 ^[3] supervises in Rosatom State Corporation production of conventional (non-nuclear) arms^[3].

Social and political activity

On February 21, 2012 - held a press conference on the eve of the Defender of the Fatherland Day.

The main questions for discussion within the press conference:

• results of combat training of troops of the Western Military District in 2011, tasks for 2012;
• new forms and methods of preparation of divisions of the district;
• social security of the military personnel of the Western Military District - provision of housing, increase in a monetary allowance;
• receipt in troops of the Western Military District of new samples of arms and military equipment;
• humanization of military service of the military personnel undergoing military service;
• formation of new type of contract service.

Awards and titles

It is awarded with Courage awards, "For military merits", "For merits before the Fatherland" the 4th degree and a number of medals^[4]

Rank - the colonel general (received it in June, 2010).

Interesting Facts

Conducts regular acceptance of the military personnel, members of their families, veterans, public organizations and citizens with addresses concerning provision of housing and also receiving the rights to privileges to veterans and disabled people of the military^[5].

Member of the committee of soldiers' mothers of Russia on the Western Military District^[6].

On September 12-14, 2012 - within military and technical cooperation the meeting of the top military commander of the Western Military District colonel general Arkady Bakhin with the vice admiral of Norway Haakon Bruun-Hanssen^[7] took place^[7].

Character at the deputy minister in a military way tough, responsible. Being on a post of the top military commander of the Western Military District, he reported in an interview that he considers a position of the commander difficult as it does not grant the right to an error. Each miscalculation can cost life of subordinates - both in military, and in peace time.

Also it proved very exacting commander. Paid special attention on training of commanders. According to him, competently can direct subordinates and entrain them only the strong, trained commander capable to execute all standards (on firing, physical training, driving and so on).

Marital Status

He is married, there are a son and the daughter.
