Was born on April 25, 1955 in Moscow, Russia.
Education
1977 - graduated from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations[2].
Career
Since 1977 - works in the system of the MFA. Worked at different diplomatic positions in central office of the ministry and abroad.
1995 - 1996 - the head of department of Department of security issues and disarmament the MFA of Russia.
1996 - For 2000 - was the head of the delegation of the Russian Federation concerning military security and to arms control at the Vienna negotiation forums, the representative of the Russian Federation in Joint advisory group under the CFE, the Advisory commission for the open sky at the Forum of OSCE on cooperation in security.
2001 - 2002 - the associate director of Department of the all-European cooperation.
November, 2002 - September, 2005 - the director of the department of the all-European cooperation.
On September 6, 2005 - the decree of the Russian President Alexander Grushko was appointed the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. On this post supervises questions of the all-European and Euro-Atlantic organizations[3].
March, 2009 - is claimed by the vice-chairman of the Interdepartmental commission of the Russian Federation on interaction with NATO and to accomplishment of the Fundamental act of the mutual relations, cooperation and security between the Russian Federation and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
On June 21, 2012 - the international State Duma Committee agreed to Alexander Grushko's statement the permanent representative of the Russian Federation at NATO.
On October 24, 2012 - the decree of the Russian President Grushko it is appointed the permanent representative of the Russian Federation at the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). Is responsible for cooperation with the all-European organizations and NATO[4].
