DeviceHive is the IoT-platform open source. The device connected to it becomes a part of Internet of Things, at this DeviceHive provides a possibility of connection, management, security and diagnostics of IoT-solutions. The platform, available to personal and professional use, contributes to the fast development in a number of areas, including security, renewable power, control of remote sensors, telemetry and automation. It can be applied in the most different industries: from creation of smart houses before observation of ship routes and the international logistics.
2017: DeviceHive release
On February 28, 2017 the DataArt company announced release of release of the version of DeviceHive.
According to the statement of DataArt, the platform became safer, reliable and simple in use. API in the basis did not change and transition to the current version will not affect the technologies which are earlier developed for DeviceHive.
This version of DeviceHive is created on a basis mikroservisov: some elements of functionality, for example, support of databases and exchange of office messages are selected in independent modules. It simplifies support of the database or the bus of messages and allows switching between them without changes in the code that allows to enter additional functional elements, and the end user can configure the platform and expand its functionality.
The linear scalability of a system is implemented. Docker-containers therefore users can expand any component are applied to installation of DeviceHive, without changing an application code - just adding copies of objects. Use of Docker allows to unroll a system on the basis of DeviceHive in a cloud or in the user's infrastructure.
We created DeviceHive to turn development in the field of Internet of Things for pleasure. Transition to modern architecture is based on the same principles: we aimed to provide to users flexibility at deployment and scalability of a system regardless of the number of expansions necessary to business. 2012: DeviceHive
The DataArt company specializing in development of the custom software started in the fall of 2012 the DeviceHive project — the platform open source using network and cloud computing and allowing to implement solutions for information exchange between devices (by the principle of Machine-to-Machine/M2M). Using cloud API (Application Programming Interface), the administrative portal and a set of components including protocols and open libraries it is possible to manage far off devices regardless of a configuration of network now.
"We created DeviceHive, considering scalability and flexibility. It is not the property of any equipment manufacturer — he is public for users — Artem Astafurov, the senior vice president of DataArt and the co-founder of DeviceHive said. — The charm of DeviceHive is that it saves time which we spend on development of the protocol and libraries of message exchange, and allows the technology companies to be focused on improvement of the system. Creation of M2M-solutions should and can become pleasant experience for developers".
According to DataArt, DeviceHive is available to wide audience both to personal, and to professional use. It gives the chance of fast development in such areas as security, environmentally friendly technologies, the smart house, remote sensors, telemetry and automation, and with key applications can be used in management and protection of houses and hotels, in logistics and the systems of tracking.
If to install all DeviceHive components, the platform allows to organize using easily configured API queue and delivery of commands between devices and client applications. On the website of the DeviceHive project it is possible to download components for consolidation of different devices; the resource also provides examples of use, offers publications of experts and enthusiasts of the movement in the thematic blog.
