The implementing solutions BalaBit IT Security, RSA Security and Blue Coat at the Moscow school of management Skolkovo

In December, 2012 Moscow School of Management Skolkovo announced a successful completion of the project on security of an information system of business school. The complete cybersecurity solution included the innovation products of such vendors as BalaBit IT Security, RSA Security and Blue Coat.

In July, 2010 the decision on need of security of resources of Moscow School of Management Skolkovo taking into account the international requirements to modern information security tools was made. The created technological solution included the products Blue Coat, RSA Security and BalaBit, easily integrating as among themselves, and with earlier created information and telecommunication structure of the organization. Within the project the I-Teco company acted as the system integrator, having performed works on design and implementing solution.

Using the equipment Blue Coat Proxy SG and Blue Coat Proxy AV secure access in the Internet for employees, teachers, students and guests of business school is provided. The complex of devices exercises traffic observation and the user activity, saving the detailed reporting in the format conforming to corporate standards. The scheme of transparent redirection of traffic on the Blue Coat Proxy SG proxy server by means of the WCCP protocol is applied to unification of settings of access. The anti-virus analysis of content is provided by means of integration of Blue Coat Proxy SG and Blue Coat Proxy AV under the ICAP protocol.

Told about opportunities of the solution which protected Internet access within the project, Alexey Krivonos, the technical director of headtechnology RU, the distributor of Blue Coat in Russia: "Except accomplishment of the main objectives project implementation allowed to optimize network infrastructure of the customer and promoted ensuring compliance to requirements of international standards of information security. The single console of management Blue Coat in combination with the flexible system of creation of reports and the politician of processing of content allowed to minimize need of the customer for the number of the engineering structure servicing this solution".

Within the project the protected remote access is provided by means of several VPN types: IPSec VPN, SSL VPN in the tunnel mode and beskliyentsky SSL VPN.

"Beckliyentsky SSL VPN is applied when users of devices which do not support the IPSec protocol need to provide secure access to internal resources. The possibility of the appeal to an internal corporate portal, file servers and some other opportunities (RDP, Citrix, etc.) by means of the normal browser is also provided" — Guryanov Dmitry, the director of IT department of Demos company, the distributor of the solutions RSA Security in Russia comments.

Authentication of users when installing the protected remote connection is performed using the solution RSA SecurID. It includes program or hardware tokens and also the RSA Authentication Manager server providing generation of one-time passwords. Authorization of users happens on the basis of data of the uniform Active Directory directory.

The monitoring system created on the basis of the solution of BalaBit company became one of crucial elements of protection of business school. BalaBit Shell Control Box (further BalaBit SCB) allows to control work of privileged users at access to the equipment of head office. Functionality of this solution supports record and storage of the protected sessions and also full-text search at the subsequent their viewing. Similar videos are stored in a special compressed format.

Project implementation took place in several stages, including inspection of an information system of the customer, preparation of technical specifications and design of the solution, creation of a demo stand and pilot implementation. Since September, 2011, after completion of acceptance tests and the period of trial operation, a system is in a standard operating mode and is actively used in Moscow School of Management Skolkovo for information security support of IT infrastructure.
