Biography

Was born in Vologda.

Graduated from the Leningrad Suvorov Military School in 1956. In 1963 (with honors) - Gubkin Moscow Institute of Petrochemical and Gas Industry in "Machines and devices of chemical productions", and in 1970 — a postgraduate study of this institute.

Scientific activity

Specializes on problems of development of the multifunction combined processes and devices for primary and secondary processing of a hydrocarbonic raw material. The famous scientist on hydrodynamics of two-phase flows, development of the equipment for catalytic processes.

Career

Working career of the beginnings in 1961 the mechanic of installation of the Salavat petrochemical plant.

Since 1963 works at Gubkin Moscow Institute of Petrochemical and Gas Industry: ml. nauch. employee, assistant, senior lecturer, associate professor. In 1977 it is elected the secretary of the October district committee of the CPSU of Moscow.

Since 1980 worked as the instructor of Department of science and the CPSU Central Committees educational institutions, since 1987 in the office of Council of Ministers of the USSR - the first Deputy Head of Department, the Head of Department of education, culture and health care.

Since 1992 continued scientific and teaching activity in the State academy of oil and gas of I.M. Gubkin, the department chair of the equipment of oil and gas processing, since 1993 — the rector of the university, since 2009 - the president of the university was elected.

It was elected the deputy of October regional council of deputies of working (People's Deputies) of Moscow (1971 — 1973, 1975-1980).

The chairman of Educational and methodical consolidation of the universities Russia performing preparation engineering and research and educational personnel for the oil and gas industries; chairman of specialized council for protection of theses; member of Accreditation board of Federal Service for Supervision in Education and Science; the member of council on award of awards of the Government of the Russian Federation in science and technology; member of the Supreme mountain council; member of council of Union of Oil & Gas Producers of Russia; Deputy Chairman of the Russian national committee on the world oil congresses; the Deputy Chairman of NTO of I.M. Gubkin; board member of International Fuel and Energy Association, member of editorial boards of the magazines "Vysshee Obrazovaniye Segodnya", "Vysshaya shkola XXI veka", "Oil, gas and business", "Quality management in an oil and gas complex", "Technology of oil and gas", Chief Editor of the magazine "Chemistry and technology of fuels and oils".
