The Sophos company provided in January, 2013 Sophos EndUser Protection — new approach to licensing of software products within security of own devices used by the staff of companies (BYOD), and growth of their application in work of mobile personnel.
Sophos EndUser Protection is a license for the specific user and ensuring the consolidated security of all its devices, unlike traditional solutions which are proposed by licenses for each separate device. It means that each user in the organization where he was, on the basis of one license receives protection of all the devices: from desktop computers with the Windows and Mac systems to mobile iPhones and iPad and also devices running Android.
Such approach raises including efficiency and simplicity of security and control of all devices which employees use for access to corporate data. Sophos EndUser Protection combines advanced technologies of protection of workstations and mobile device management (MDM) and significantly reduces the load of IT departments connected with rapid distribution of BYOD. Along with it business receives the attractive license solution which does not have analogs in the industry.
In modern conditions of business the staff of the enterprises gets data access using personal and corporate mobile phones, tablets and notebooks, being or in head office, or at remote offices, or on the way or working far off. According to the research Cisco IBSG Horizons Study, in 2012 2.8 devices connected to network were the share of one employee on average, and by 2014 increase in this indicator to 3.3 is predicted.
Such is statistics, but many employees who often are in traveling or who need to reside in touch can use and the bigger number of devices. This trend raises load of IT departments and increases their budgets as it is necessary to ensure safety, management and support of all these devices.
