DSCon Axus Yotta III Enhance

The DSCon company, the distributor hardware and the software for storage, protection, processing and data asset management, announced at the beginning of 2013 availability of new high-performance disk storage systems of data of Axus Yotta III Enhance about a host interfaces 6Gb SAS or 8Gb the Fibre Channel of production of Axus Microsystems company.

Subsystems of Yotta III Enhance are delivered with one or two RAID controllers based on Dual Core RAID-on-Chip (ROC) 800MHz for the bus PCI Express 3.0 x8 with a cache of DDR3-1333 with a capacity up to 8 GB supporting the Active-Active mode and provide two ports 6Gb SAS or four ports 8Gb Fibre Channels on the controller. In a line the arrays supporting 12, 16 or 24 hard drives of SAS/SATA and equipped with ports of the Mini SAS expansion are provided. When using expansion units, one or more SAS JBOD, about 128 disks are capable to support the systems, told CNews in DSCon.

The duplicated modules of controllers, with mirroring of a cache through the PCIe Gen 3 connection, provide high availability, and excess power supplies and modules of cooling allow to minimize idle time and any other violations of continuity of business.

According to DSCon, improvements in the hardware of a new series of RAIDs Yotta III Enhance supplement the existing Yotta III technology. New subsystems are equipped to already familiar clients of Axus company with the user interface and RAID management tools for simplification of creation, monitoring and service of configurations of storages. Besides, disk arrays of the Yotta III Enhance series provide the means of an expanded configuration allowing to perform coincidence tuning for ensuring continuous performance of the specific applications used, for example, in video-tape editing, post-production and broadcasting. Also the opportunity of coincidence tuning of subsystems for improvement of compatibility with the different hard drives delivered by different producers is offered.

Key feature of solutions of the Yotta family is the compatibility of these arrays with the latest hard drives from leading manufacturers and support of disks the volume of more 3TB. Such compatibility giving an opportunity of the choice of an optimal solution, emphasized in DSCon.
