DSCon Distribution Service Consulting

DSCon is a distributor hardware and the software for creation of data processing centers. The company has partnership with key equipment manufacturers and software in spheres of storage systems, computing resources (servers and clusters), switching of networks and software for DPC. DSCon offers a broad spectrum of DWH, the server hardware, equipment for switching of networks and also solutions of backup and data recovery and the continuity of business.

DSCon of the first in Russia in 2003 began promotion of Infiniband technology – the intrekonnekt for creation of supercomputers and high-performance clusters – and participated in projects on creation of the largest in Russia and the CIS of multinodal computer systems.

DSCon has exclusive right on promotion of a number of IT solutions, in particular, of Seagate Dothill storage systems.

History

2017: Merlion purchased DSCon

In February, 2017 Merlion announced agreement signature according to which the DSCon company will be its part. The transaction was carried out within the strategy of development for the VAD direction (Value Add Distribution is distribution of solutions with additional services), explain in Merlion. Its main objectives are gain of a market share and competences in Enterprise-solutions and also strengthening of positions of Merlion as the leading supplier of IT products and services for system integrators.

Accession of DSCon becomes the next important step in development of the Merlion VAD direction and allows us to maintain the status of the leader of Value Add of the distributor, - Igor Solntsev, the director of distribution of the VAD division of Merlion company says.

Merlion purchased DSCon within development of distribution of solutions with additional services

Due to DSCon accession the solution portfolio of Merlion will be replenished with products of Mellanox Technologies companies (the developer of the solutions Infiniband and Ethernet allowing to optimize performance of DPC) and Infortrend (the decision maker in the field of network data storage). Besides, it is supposed to save the exclusive OEM agreement with Seagate concerning Dothill storage systems.

In addition to above-mentioned brands, the portfolio of Merlion will include solutions of a number of the companies: Quantum, ATTO Technology, FalconStor Software, Overland Storage, Panasas, XenData Software.

During integration of business of DSCon into structure of Merlion new employees will fill up the state of the VAD division.

Financial side and other confidential aspects of the transaction are not disclosed.

2011

The DSCon company announced opening of Laboratory of high-performance computing and systems – DSCon HPC Lab. The laboratory will be engaged in software development for the solution of applied problems of processing and data analysis on multiple cluster computing systems and also design, creation and operation of such systems based on high-speed solutions of switching of InfiniBand, 10Gb Ethernet and others. At the same time switching supplies of equipment will still be performed through the companies which are Partners of DSCon.

DSCon HPC Lab should carry to number of the major advantages first of all the staff of division who is highly qualified and unique experience in the field of design and creation of high-performance computing systems, including, ^[1] entering world TOP500.

Other important advantages of Laboratory are possibilities of complex development of hardware and program solutions – a cluster under the customer's task, and involvement, in case of need, of specialists and resources of decision makers of high-speed switching InfiniBand and 10Gb Ethernet at project development.

Possibilities of laboratory include:

• Creation of the software and adaptation of programs of the customer for multiple processor systems, beginning from a research of a possibility of parallelization of algorithms of the customer on any number of computing processors and completing optimization of ready programs of the customer for effective use on multiple processor systems.
• Development and designing of specialized high-performance hardware-software computer systems (a cluster under the customer's task).
• Design and development of systems of distributed (GRID) and cloud (Cloud) calculations for corporate use.
• Rendering services in installation and maintenance specialized engineering (ANSYS, LSDYNA, STAR-CD, etc.) and scientific (AMBER, GAMESS, Gromacs, LAMMPS, NWCHEM, etc.) software for the high-performance systems.
• Development system and the application software using specialized processors and processor GPU elements (NVIDIA and ATI) and Cell (IBM).
• Rendering services in administration, maintenance and support of high-performance installations, system and specialized software.
• Examination of projects of the customer.
• Consulting in the field of high-performance computing.
