The Ministry of Health and Social Development of Tula region "makes habitable" new DPC

The IT company together with committee of Tula region on innovations and informatization created a powerful regional data processing center for the benefit of Ministry of Health and Social Development of Tula region, the press service of integrator reported on February 19, 2013.

Background

Within implementation of the federal program of information technology development of the sphere of the Russian health care the Ministry of Health and Social Development of Tula region made the decision on creation of a regional data processing center. Need of existence of the flexible IT infrastructure having the high performance, fault tolerance, reliability and controllability became the main motive of creation of own data center in the area. Key purposes of creation of DPC: ensuring continuity of providing information services, implementation of uniform approaches to procedures of data storage, and, above all, assistance of project implementation on creation of the unified information system in the field of health care.

Solution

Based on open auction the IT company became the contractor of the project. Implementation of the designed complex of the systems of DPC began fall of 2012. Within three months specialists of IT executed inspection of an object, check and consolidation of the engineering equipment which was earlier purchased by the customer for project objectives and information systems, made installation, adjustments and prepared infrastructure components for commissioning.

Reality

For February 19, 2013 as the press service of the contractor reports, in a data processing center the 66th blade servers of IBM, storage systems of IBM (the general capacity 79tb) and HP (capacity from above 66tb), modular tape libraries for data backup of IBM, switching and network equipment of Cisco are installed. Effective functioning of data center is ensured by a complex of the engineering systems:

• automatic gas fire fighting
• the uninterrupted guaranteed power supply, including the 330 kVA diesel generator set, 2 160 kVA UPSes everyone, distribution cable networks and boards
• conditioning, with a gross performance of 157.5 kW
• control and access control (ACS)

The ACS is constructed according to the scheme of differentiation of the rights of physical access to the premises of DPC and to each server cabinet. Besides, function of video surveillance and storage of a video information is implemented.
