Cash desk NCR SelfServ Checkout Convertible has two modes (self-service and service with the assistance of the cashier) used depending on model of work of retailer and a flow of buyers. For support of two options of service a system is equipped with the rotating basic display unit, the auxiliary display and a panel for service staff. It allows retailers to improve considerably service quality of buyers depending on load of the cash register line and also to increase efficiency of personnel.
The compact version of NCR SelfServ Checkout Express Convertible is developed for shops of a small format. Express Convertible can be used both in single option, and as a part of group of terminals. Having placed the shelf for the calculation of goods directly over a packaging zone (configuration - "basket over bag"), you will be able to set in the same space five Express Convertible systems instead of four standard self-service terminals to service more buyers.
Today during the periods of decrease in a flow of buyers cashiers or just "do nothing", or close cash desk and pass to accomplishment of other duties in shop. And if the flow of buyers increases, the cashier should squeeze through ranks of buyers to go back to the work. Thanks to an opportunity to switch between the modes of self-service and service with participation of cashiers of retailer can increase capacity of cash desks and efficiency of personnel in the conditions of fluctuation of a flow of buyers.
"Retail networks aim to make process of purchase by the most convenient for visitors. Long waiting in queues can become a source of dissatisfaction of buyers — Stefan Clemens, the head of retail and hotel business, NCR GmbH corporation says. — Thanks to NCR SelfServ Checkout Convertible buyers can quicker make purchase, and retailers — to increase service quality, efficiency of personnel and to reduce queues to cash desks".
NCR also offers software products which will help to provide more "personal" service and an opportunity to broadcast more saturated and dynamic information stream on screens of monitors for buyers. This information collected taking into account needs of buyers can be shown on screens of interactive booths and self-service terminals, helping to increase efficiency of advertizing campaigns and to increase the volume of cross or additional sales.
Buyers can specify the preferences, having specified where when and how they want to obtain information on services and offers of shop. For example, they can specify that they want to receive electronic digital checks. It helps retailers to react more sensitively to requests of buyers and to adapt quickly to their preferences using different tools (such as booths, point-of-sale terminals, website and mobile devices).
