The SUMATRA-LTD company equips retail chain stores with top solutions of Cisco

The OSIS company implemented the project of failsafe perimeter of a data network for SUMATRA-LTD LLC, the company integrator reported on March 11, 2013.

Goal

The customer planned opening of 300 shopping facilities within the next 3 years. Proceeding from it the strategy of centralization of IT resources is selected that in the future will allow the company of the Customer to cut down expenses on opening of the shopping facility and to lower operating costs.

In turn, the strategy of centralization required to provide the continuity of business processes in retail network of the company, uninterrupted communication of all shopping facilities with the data processing center (DPC) for work of corporate resources.

Solution

Proceeding from requirements to security and reliability the equipment of Cisco company is selected.

The draft decision is created taking into account scaling of number of shopping facilities up to 450 in the short term.

The solution is constructed on top products of the line of Cisco Routing and Security Cisco ASR and Cisco ASA 5585 with the modules IPS. For providing security requirements and fault tolerance two independent modules the Internet and WAN, and also internal and external demilitarized zones were constructed.

The OSIS company performed works on design and adjustment of a geographically distributed data network. The failsafe perimeter of a data network is as a result created that provided a reliable and uninterrupted communication of the central office of the company with separate network of its shopping facilities. The project was successfully implemented thanks to the technical specifications, the help and understanding from the customer.

Subtleties and parts

At the central office the command center which performs monitoring of network, collecting of statistics, registration of events is organized. The implemented software exercises remote control and setup of telecommunication equipment in regional offices. The products Cisco Prime Infrastructure together with Fluke Networks were selected from product quality for monitoring.
