History of the company
1996: Foundation of publishing house
Foundation of Publishing House. A release of the first weekly advertizing magazine "Remont I Stroitelstvo" which in a year comes to the leading positions in the market.
1997 – Start of the second weekly advertizing publication "Kompyyutery I Orgtekhnika" which also became the leader in the area during this period.
1998 – Financial crisis showed resistance of publishing house to influence of adverse economic factors.
1999 – Start according to the license of the American company Weider Publications of the monthly female magazine SHAPE about healthy and active lifestyle. The only magazine of similar subject in the Russian market makes enormous success. Growth in sales of the magazine within a year made 250%, advertizing growth – 300%.
2000: Start of the computer weekly UPgrade
Start of own project – the computer weekly UPgrade. Thanks to competent positioning the magazine within a year became self-sustaining, was beaten out in market leaders.
2001 – Start of the musical weekly publication of NME according to the license of the English company IPC Media. Despite a broad promotion-campaign, the magazine did not get accustomed in the Russian market. Reason: advertisers significantly suffered during this period from piracy products. This unsuccessful project of publishing house which had to be closed in 2003.
2002 – A release of the second magazine according to the license Weider Publications - "SHAPE-Uprazhneniya". The magazine separated sports audience from the general audience of the SHAPE magazine which, in turn, passed into discharge of luxury. "SHAPE-Uprazhneniya" began to pay off already from the 3rd number.
2002 – The edition of the third license magazine Weider Publications is Natural Health ("Health by nature"). The magazine occupied the empty niche of velnes-editions in Russia and quickly enough reached payback thanks to steady audience and specialized advertisers.
2003 – Start of the monthly computer magazine of a "thick" format with the CD disk UPgrade Special. Thanks to the known brand the magazine very quickly won the audience.
2004 – Start of "SHAPE-Mama" – the magazine for future and young mothers. The project also was successful and profitable.
2004 – Start of own project – the help weekly "GDE". The magazine was distributed for free at restaurants, night clubs and other entertaining institutions. Later the magazine was closed.
2005 – Start of the fifth license edition Weider Publications – the magazine about healthy nutrition of "SHAPE-Menyu". With a release of this Veneto Publishing House edition became the leading strategic partner of Weider Publications in Russia and won first place in the world by the number of license magazines among other publishing houses cooperating with Weider Publications. For reference use: only the SHAPE magazine is issued in 33 countries of the world.
2007: Attempt of sale of publishing house
The publishing house begins to work on creation of own Online projects. As Kommersant wrote, in 2007 owners of publishing house tried to sell it, having employed Meridian Capital investment company which suggested participants of the media market to purchase it. At that time owners of Veneto estimated the business at $36-42 million, however experts called this amount overestimated.
2011 – The publishing House actively develops six Online projects: shape.ru, shape-mama.ru, otprirody.ru, upweek.ru, upspecial.ru, remontinfo.ru.
2013: Closing of paper UPgrade and UPgrade Special
In January, 2013 the Veneto publishing house made the decision to close the paper version of the weekly about UPgrade computers and also to completely stop issue of the monthly UPgrade Special. About it Izvestia was told by the CEO of publishing house Oleg Ivanov.
- Target audience of the UPgrade magazine — programmers, the most advanced part of audience of media, and they for a long time all on the Internet. Besides, UPgrade had an electronic version long ago, just we could not earn from it. Admirers digitized the magazine and spread it on piracy resources. At the circulation of 60 thousand copies a week we counted about 300 thousand downloads of UPgrade from piracy resources. At the same time we could not earn from these downloadings — Oleg Ivanov told.
The first number of electronic UPgrade will appear at the beginning of February. The PDF version of the edition will be posted on the website UPgrade, also versions for gadgets will appear. At present in publishing house the model of monetization of the project is discussed, the magazine it is possible that will be distributed for free, and to earn — from advertizing.
- We want to make it mass and free — Oleg Ivanov emphasized.
Transition "in digit" does not threaten magazines yet for women which are published by Veneto publishing house. The publisher Inna Korobova says that frequency of a release of some editions even increases.
- We publish two years the SHAPE menu magazine with the increased frequency — six numbers year. Since 2013 we increased frequency of a release of the Zdorovye Ot Prirody magazine — Korobova specified[1].

2014: Closing of the company
On February 28, 2014 it became known that because of financial difficulties the Veneto publishing house since March 3, 2014 stops the edition of the Shape magazines, "Shape-Mama", "Shape-Menyu" and "Shape-Uprazhneniya"[2].
It is stated in the official letter of February 28 signed by the CEO of ID Oleg Ivanov (is at the disposal of AdIndex). As AdIndex on good authority became known, the Veneto publishing house stops the existence.
Veneto worked in the Russian market of 18 years. On researches GPP (Guild of Publishers of Periodicals), it entered ten the largest publishing houses of the glossy press in Russia.
In total ID of Veneto published nine magazines: SHAPE, "SHAPE-Uprazhneniya", "SHAPE-Mama", "SHAPE-Menyu", "Health by nature", UPgrade, UPgrade Special, "Repair and construction", "Quickly. Tasty. It is useful".
Deceleration of growth rates of the advertizing market most strongly affected printed media. According to AKAR, for all 2013 the total advertizing revenues of publishers for the first time decreased for the last four years and at once by 10% — up to 37 billion rubles.
