T-Systems: integration of ERP and PDM systems

In March, 2013 the T-Systems company provided integration of PDM and ERP systems – the software for management of engineering data and a management system for business activities. The developer created a unique product for the Russian engineering enterprises which differs in universality of integration of SAP ERP with the different PDM systems. One of partners of the project – the leading Russian developer of PDM systems ASCON company.

Integration of ERP and CAD/PDM systems – one of important tasks for the enterprises using design developments. An ERP system is used for enterprise management, a CAD (CAD) – for design automation and preparation of technical processes, a PDM system – for management of engineering data. The main problem of integration is that data in systems are presented in different types and formats. Unlike already existing projects, development of T-Systems, the golden partner of SAP, is universal, it can be integrated with any PDM system. The solution allows to reduce time of an output of new products for the market and to react as fast as possible to changes in production.

"Earlier all completions in the field of integration between ERP and PDM were executed manually under the specific project, being piece service which required a lot of time and costs, – the CEO of T-Systems CIS Toskin Alexey tells. – Our solution initially provides 90% of works on integration of SAP ERP with PDM systems for any engineering enterprise of Russia and the CIS. Other 10% depend on a specific PDM system therefore we conduct negotiations with the main vendors of the PDM solutions. The new solution will integrate development cycles and productions of a product in uniform bilateral business process, will significantly reduce a set-up time of production and will increase efficiency and quality of interaction of masters on production with designers and technologists. The joint solution T-Systems and ASCON are based on the SAP products ERP, LOTSMAN:PLM, VERTIKAL and KOMPAS-3D.

After accomplishment of technology preparation of production in a PDM system regulations of materials and time for each product, technology processes, including transactions, transitions, the equipment, the equipment and auxiliary materials, process flows and changes (design and technology notifications) of products are available. A possibility of fast transfer of up-to-date data from PDM directly in the production modules ERP – a key to optimization of production and business of the enterprise in general".

Integration of ERP and PDM systems completely excludes repeated data entry, allowing to avoid errors. All changes are carried out through notifications which can be created on requests of production workshops or technologists. Double-sided data exchange between SAP ERP and PDM systems to be performed as in real time, and batch mode through certain intervals manually, depending on desire of the customer.

In 2012 T-Systems put on the market the packaged ERP-SAP solution for mechanical engineering. It allows to automate the main financial, logistic and production processes 5 - 7 months in time. On the basis of this solution was the interface between ERP and PDM systems is created.
