SOGAZ uses the Microsoft platform for creation of a corporate portal

The Softline company completed implementation of a corporate portal on the Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 platform for SOGAZ Insurance Group, the press service of the company reported on April 5, 2013.

Background

Creation of a corporate portal became the next step of group in the field of development of corporate IT. Time for assessment of existing solutions and the choice of the platform and also formation of the task list which would need to be transferred to the portal at the first stage was required. After demonstration of opportunities of SharePoint the final choice was stopped on this software product. The Softline company, a progressive tense which is cooperating with SOGAZ company and accumulated considerable experience in implementation of similar projects became the partner in implementing solution.

Job

The project is implemented on the basis of the technical specifications prepared jointly by two companies. At the initial stage Softline developers created a logical structure of the portal and unrolled sections: the homepage, the module "Birthdays", news, an organization structure, storage of documents in the different directions, undressed with official data to which all employees have access. On the portal the organization structure of the company implemented on the hierarchical reference book by employees and divisions which, in turn, is integrated with Microsoft Forefront Identity Management is placed. Search in documents is implemented by standard means of Microsoft SharePoint. Now via the portal it is possible to issue the request for manufacturing of a printed material, tender and insurance documentation – forms, policies, forms of the strict accounting. Within the project specialists of Softline carried out integration of the portal with an electronic document management system of the company (on the EMC Documentum platform).

"Gradually questionnaires which the staff of management of marketing, personnel management and IT actively uses were put into operation. For example, thus information on the promotional materials which are most demanded by branches gathers", – the head of department of marketing of SOGAZ Andrey Fedotov told.
Roman Romantsov, the Head of Department of solutions of Microsoft of Softline company, noted: "The portal plays a role of the central information resource for the management and the staff of the company. Operational exchange of necessary information provides more close connection between all employee groups and divisions. Performance improvement of work at the expense of the organization of target delivery of information and the timely notification of her receivers is expected that, in turn, in the best way will affect quality of the services provided by insurance group".
Sergey Rodionov, the head of department of design of a corporate information system of JSC SOGAZ, emphasized: "Increase in efficiency of activity and quality of information support of staff of SOGAZ, decrease in labor input of support of processes of information support and interaction of specialists was a main objective of the project. It was also reached due to creation of a common information space with uniform point of entry. The corporate portal based on Microsoft SharePoint became that the platform using which we solved assigned tasks. Over time it will become a uniform resource of document storage – at least 80% of useful and necessary information in work will be posted in sections and on portal nodes".
