The development of Asteros Contact Avia created at a financial support of Skolkovo Foundation is intended to solve a problem of queues at front desks of passengers and baggage on run. Airlines use different information systems for these purposes. Therefore on one terminal rack registration of passengers for runs only of certain carrier is often carried out. Asteros Contact Avia, providing the single user interface to the different systems of airlines, fixes this problem. Using the solution the agent can register passengers and baggage on all runs on any rack, implementing approach of "single window" – unified check-in. In such mode when changing the specialist or a recording system it is not necessary to recustomize a rack, and the indicator of its utilization increases by 10%.
The solution can be implemented based on any terminal and does not require making changes in recording systems of passengers. Asteros Contact Avia can work also on mobile devices – tablets. For completion of process the agent in addition needs only the portable printer. Such approach will allow to unload quickly the check-in area in hours of peak loads, and in VIP-zones to carry out registration of passengers of a business class without installation of the special equipment on places.
Among advantages which are got by the airports, working with Asteros Contact Avia, – reducing costs for personnel training almost three times. New agents will not need to study work of all recording systems of airlines any more, to them the nobility only one interface is enough. Besides, the solution integrated with the operational database of the airport allows to collect in real time statistics about quantity, structure and special marks of passengers. Analytical cuts both on separate run, and in the set temporary horizon help to perform long-term resource planning and in advance to develop measures for quality improvement of service.
The product allows to register passengers and their baggage on all runs on any rack, implementing the principle of "single window" — common check-in. "Asteros. The Automated Access Control of Passengers (AACP)" is one of system modules of Asteros Contact Avia and earlier was presented at the market as "Passenger Access Control" (PAC).
"Our system already underwent approbation based on terminal F of the Sheremetyevo airport. During a pilot project, thanks to ergonomic and to the intuitive interface "Asteros Contact Avia", both new, and experienced specialists, could carry out registration for all runs equally quickly. Systems capabilities will allow the airport to simplify significantly planning of working shifts, to reduce or to completely abolish queues to front desks", – Demidov Alexey, the company executive of Asteros Labs tells about the first results of implementation.
2013
The Asteros Labs company certified the solution for the airports "Asteros Contact Avia" according to standards of ARINC – a recording system of air passengers.
Interest in the Russian development was shown by the airports of the USA, Switzerland, Finland, Latvia, Singapore, Oman and Turkey and also the Russian air ports which representatives attended an exhibition. Pilot projects of implementation of Asteros Contact Avia at three domestic airports were as a result planned.
Asteros Contact Avia underwent certification in ARINC laboratory in London. Solution compatibility with the vMUSE system – development of ARINC of the class CUTE which allows to use different recording systems in infrastructure of the airport on the same equipment became the main object of research at the same time. Testing was held to confirm that Asteros Contact Avia can be implemented at the airports equipped with the vMUSE system.
Specialists of vendor checked as far as the product of Asteros Labs meets standards of ARINC on security, fault tolerance, high-speed performance, etc. Based on testing, Asteros Contact Avia showed a full compliance to the stated parameters that is confirmed with the certificate of ARINC.
Working at the vMUSE platform, Asteros Contact Avia consolidates data from all registration systems of the airport and creates the single working interface. "Our application facilitates work of staff of the airport and reduces registration time. The air port thus is freed from need of training of new employees in rules of registration of passengers for the different systems and also solves a problem of automatic information acquisition about quantity and the list of the passengers serviced at the airport", – Alexey Demidov, the company executive of Asteros Labs says about functionality of integrated solution.
Certification confirmed officially a possibility of implementation of Asteros Contact Avia at the airports where the vMUSE system already functions. Worldwide there are more than 150 such air ports, in Russia vMUSE is used at the international airports of Ufa, Kazan and in Sheremetyevo.
2015
The innovative solution of Asteros Contact Avia developed by Asteros Labs company (enters into Asteros Consulting) with assistance of Skolkovo Foundation based on the integration platform "Asteros Business Contact", integrates data of all registration systems of the airport, and the universal working interface allows to register passengers and their baggage on all runs on any rack, implementing the principle of "single window" – common check-in. Propped registration considerably reduces queues in hours of peak loads and significantly simplifies work of agents. Integration of Asteros Contact Avia into the operational database of the airport gives the chance to collect and consolidate statistical information in real time that allows the airport to understand precisely volume, specifics and the final direction of flight of the serviced passengers.
"Confirmation of requirements of the international standards SITA opens to our solution ability to integrate on all aviaobjects using the SITA system as the basic CUTE platform, and these are more than 1000 airports in 200 countries of the world. The certification process took more than a year, but we could fulfill all requirements of SITA, finished a product according to the high level to which our solution was output, and the final result became technology breakthrough of the Russian IT developer in the aviation industry, - Demidov Alexey, the head of Asteros Labs company says".
For training of Asteros Contact Avia for certification specialists of Asteros Labs within 10 months analyzed certified requirements of SITA company on the remote platform emulating the CUTE environment and made corresponding changes to the solution. Then a system was tested by experts of SITA in special laboratory in Bohemia (USA). Verification of the received laboratory tests in the environment of the real airport became the next stage. As the pilot platform the International Airport Tolmachevo was selected from Novosibirsk with which Asteros connects experience of long-term strategic cooperation. According to regulations of SITA, the solution of Asteros Contact Avia passed a test in combat conditions agents of the airport while administrators of SITA monitored shared state of infrastructure and the SITA CUTE complex to reveal as system operation influences CUTE infrastructure in general. Based on each stage certificates of conformity of SITA were received.
