In January, 2014 Asteros announced start of a pilot project at Sheremetyevo Airport on express registration of passengers. The project is implemented based on the mobile application of Asteros Contact Avia developed by the company, allowing to work with the systems of the airport via mobile devices.
Express registration of passengers is performed by the agents of registration who are in the airport hall. Within testing of new service specialists of Asteros equipped their jobs of agents and provided their training in work with a system.
Asteros explained TAdviser that agents are the staff of the airport equipped with the tablet and the portable printer which is located at them on a belt. They go on the terminal and "unload" queues, registering passengers with hand luggage: using the specified equipment, all necessary procedures are carried out, the boarding pass is printed and issued to the passenger on the necessary run.
All aviatravellers can use service of mobile registration provided that the size of their hand luggage does not exceed the set regulations and they do not belong to the special category of passengers whose registration is carried out only on a front desk directly at the airport.
"The service of mobile registration is an analog of the order of food directly from queue in fast food restaurants. You as the passenger, you save time, and the airport unloads the check-in area and optimizes the operating expenses", - say in Asteros.
Asteros also told TAdviser that it is first big "pilot" of Asteros Contact Avia, and any more at one airport in Russia of such system there is no express registration. Earlier, the Sheremetyevo Airport was carried out by "pilot" of Asteros Contact Avia for propped registration of passengers (parallel registration for runs of different airlines on any rack by the principle of "single window"), and "The mobile agent" is a separate new solution module which is for the first time tested at the airport, explain in the company.
Asteros assumes that in the long term use of service of express registration should facilitate significantly process of registration of groups of passengers, including, with small children and also aviatravellers with limited opportunities of health for which stay in common areas of registration can cause discomfort.
